Guys noticed that many ppl dont use Panzerschrecks on Sturmpios in 1vs1. Me too. Imo it is not worth(minesweeeper are more important....etc...). Spios are a strange weapon platform. You loose 1/4 dmg with the Panzerschreck upgrade.

Thought about adding 2 Panzerschrecks to the Sturmpio(like ostheer pgren).

If you go double sturmpio or more its quite useful to upgrade with shrecks since you can always have at least one with a sweeper. However if you only have one pio squad then you run into the problem of choosing a minesweeper or shreck, and the sweeper is usually safer.

The silly thing that should be changed is not being able to have both shreck and sweeper on the same squad. Meanwhile brit engis and American RE's can have both sweepers and a buttload of weapon upgrades on a single unit.

If you go 1 sturm, which is pretty common, you can't get sweepers and it will punish you a lot. In addition, sturmpios with shrecks usually miss. Not worth the upgrade imo.

Sturmpios taking too much Popcap and has too much roles on them for to use them as AT infantry. You need at least 1 able squad for repairs, in late maybe even 2. It also would be sweet to have 1 squad with sweeper, for to clear infinite soviet mines, cos otherwise - you gonna lose your high priced tanks very fast.

I don't use them as AT at all, in all modes, cos... I can't afford to have SO many SPios. In general, it was way better before, when Volks had Shrecks. Original design of OKW was very much better, than that we have today, that I can say for sure.

Yeah i am not a fan of the okw change too. Okw is the weakest faction by far now. No smoke, no reliable at....

The upgrade itself is not problem but the cost it. now when it is on specialist infantry it should cost 60 munny like every shcreck because it is no longer spammable.

Sweeper - schreck chose is good because it give tactical depth, decisionmaking and risk/reward to game

I never use them.

In a realistic scenario you cant. Sturmpioniere are the most expensive engineer unit at 300mp. So you have one or two on the field at any given time max. One is required to go for the minesweeper. And even one minesweeper is only sufficient to attack at one point. I ususally prefer to have two minesweepers.

Whenever I face Schreck Sturmpios as Allies I spam mines simply because they have no mine detection left.

Also gives SP ability to switch Shreck/MP 44 please, 90 muni is way too much for such a fragile unit. Or give them double Shreck like PG at 150 muni and give them ability to switch to MP44.

I rarely use them and rarely see anyone else use them either. I still feel this was a terrible solution for the Volk complaining. OKW need a medium infantry for shrek upgrades...

this could be a solution. Adding a tank hunter unit to okw. This unit could be locked behind teching(like mg34)

other options are:
-2x schrecks for sturms
-back to volx
-remove the Panzerschreck completely
-sturms keep the single schreck("nobody uses it")

Either way. I would lock the schreck behind teching. You are able to purchase it after the first or second truck.
I dont understand it. Relic removed the schreck after ppl. were complaining about okw schreck blobs. But you are still able to double equip usf or ukf troops with piats and zooks. They also have much better weapon platforms. RE and UKF pioneers.

I use flamethrowers from the Fuersturm doctrine more than I use the schrecks.... In a 1v1 it is really rare that I need one. I always need sweepers first, and a single schreck is not really going to make the difference between killing a tank and not. Would rather save the manpower instead of investing in a second pio squad. They should make it so you can have a sweeper and a schreck at the same time. RE and royal engineers can have 2 at weapons and a sweeper at the same time, I don't think one schreck and one sweeper are really gamebreaking.

Would be pretty cool if you would be able to "put your schreck away". I mean the sweeper mechanic. But this is kinda op.

From 2v2 perspective.

Most of time I use sweepers to detect mines/demos and to have faster tank repair. Rarely panzerschrecks only vs USF (no mines) to help fight stuarts. I would either give them 2xshrecks - 2 shreck on expensive not spammable platfrom with high popcap - or let them have minesweepers+1shreck (large muni cost, lose their DPS).

What I dont understand why spios can't have 1 shreck and sweeper, while Rear Echelon/Royal Engineers runs with sweepers and 2 bars/zooks/bren/piat. Also before panzerschreck change, sturmpios could have flamer+sweeper - now they can't :hansRAGE:

Yeah back then you could go both panzerschreck and minesweepers. It wasn't like it was free either, you got both options in one expensive unit, after the combined munitions investment. Being an expensive 4-man squad and the upgrades give it exclusive roles, it was a fair trade. If you had four Sturmpioniers and upgraded to both for all of them, thats 90x4, plus 30x 4, for a whopping 480 munitions....and you still need to juggle between using them for AT and repair/ mine clearing.
Now you can only do one or the other, spam Sturmpios or spam Volks and spam fausts to compensate.

I feel like 1 shrek isnt worth giving up infantry firepower on the sturmpios. I only play 1v1's though. But i only do it if i lack in AT and i have to. Because charging a tank with your sturmpios is such a big loss in manpower since you will probably lose some models in most scenarios, seeing how expensive it is to reinforce. So i'd like to avoid it if possible. Now 2x shreks would be interesting and worth giving up the infantry firepower, and hard to spam. Because of the cost of the unit and reinforce cost.
