I think the comparison is missleading as there are some difference in performance between autoattack and barrage.

81mm, 82mm, Grw 34 and 120mm mortars gets 106 and 140 AA range. Only the USF mortar used to have this and the rest were only for BARRAGE.
MHTs (USF/OH), Pack Howie and ISG* only benefits of an increase range on barrage on vet3.

*vet1 gives it +5 range


now little katitof takes pack howie shells and amazing barrage mode into account


Regarding the Pack Howie. Till it hits vet2, barrage mode shells are equal to auto attack shells. If you try to use the range on the pack howie barrage (shooting an enemy base into FoW), you'll find yourselves hitting 1/15 on the desired spot.
If the enemy has lots of units spread out, yeah you will be hitting something.

If the changes were fair and logical (normal mortars didn't need to get AA increase range IMO), then the same changes should be done to both ISG and Pack Howie but that would be way too much cancer IMO.

Regular shells, both auto and barrage, pretty well vs units in yellow cover because everyone clumps up. For some reason they have much less scatter than HEAT.

Of course if you get hit by HEAT in cover, you're probably dead. Obviously it's either RNG or you've moved the pack howie up closer.


relying on lucky ohk is a bad mechanic.

Auto attack is a more common term than automatic fire :P

I don't see anything wrong with this.

I won engagement and now I'm trying to kill retreating squad.
We can say the same about retreating blob straight into Stuka zu fuss/katy/calliope/werfer barrage - same mechanism.


I just mean you don´t have to make direct hits. And with thaaat range you can fire it from safe distance

except AA stand for Anti-air as well. My brain keep auto converting AA to anti-air.

Problem is, if you make use of the 160 or 220 something range, you won't hit your intended spot and just rely that he has units all over around his base. I think with some testing you could improved your chances since i think the barrage tends to overshoot so you can somehow compensate for that.
