Afterpatch: mortar vet 0 vs vet 3 comparison

Vet 3 circle is the bigger and brighter one, the smallest circle is no-fire zone.
First 2 are russian mortars, 3rd is USF mortar and grW 34 is ostheer mortar, other unit names should be obvious.
All units were sitting in same spot, tested in Angoville
I´ll just leave it here, discuss.

pack howie so beast
its only barrage mode, normal fire range is lower, but still those HEAT round wiping squads fired from that afar is nothing I want to encounter

I'll take into account that it will be decrewed 100% of times when its ambushed as well contrary to mortars that just press retreat button and preserve vet.
Was it up to me, I would redesign howi into barrage only weapon with 6-9 shots barrage.

Just screen your pak howi with the riflemen horde. A simple L2P issue.

And how many heat shells pack howie shoots? 3? Now add huge scatter and chances for wiping stuff will be lower than 1%.
I'm not going to post the stats because they're so readily available, but everyone readily ignores them, but pack howies and ISGs have less scatter than their mortar counterparts that also have a similar number of shells per barrage.

But again. What are chances that one of those 3 shells will land perfectly on a squad and wipe? Quite low..

Agreed, its pretty inaccurate and the cool down makes it a sub-par ability at best.

Regular shells, both auto and barrage, pretty well vs units in yellow cover because everyone clumps up. For some reason they have much less scatter than HEAT.
Of course if you get hit by HEAT in cover, you're probably dead. Obviously it's either RNG or you've moved the pack howie up closer.

Thats why pack howie firing every HEAT round (from safe distance ofcourse) to your HQ when you retreat may be annoying to deal with.

Just a little note to all who are arguing about pack howie. Squads that are retreating to base often have low health and members, so once once shot hit them (not even on top of the squad) they are pretty much dead.
Thats why pack howie firing every HEAT round (from safe distance ofcourse) to your HQ when you retreat may be annoying to deal with.
I don't see anything wrong with this.
I won engagement and now I'm trying to kill retreating squad.
We can say the same about retreating blob straight into Stuka zu fuss/katy/calliope/werfer barrage - same mechanism.
