Bear in mind that the Centaur has been indirectly buffed this patch (especially in relation to the Cromwell):
- Pre-patch, its speed made it very possible to bumrush the Centaur with Volksblobs
- Crushing with Cromwell might become more risky now that fausts are better-available
- Centaur doesn't care about fausts, since it can kite low-range units for days; even with that acceleration

The Vet1 ability is insanely sweet, but:
- It costs 50 munitions
- It is a scatter-based attack (you need a clear path between you and the (ground) target to hit

Regarding Ostwind. The things that really kill its performance are:
- The attack is mostly scatter-based; thus you need to make sure there are no obstacles between you and the target
- To ensure that there are no obstacles between you and the target, you need to keep moving
- Since the attack fires in bursts, moving means you lose a lot of your potential dps due to burst penalties

(Ostwind is insanely more manouverable than the Centaur, which means it's not as risky to use. This means that on the right mode you can spam 3 of them and not worry about losing all of them to a single flank).

The easy way to fix Ostwind is reduce its moving burst penalty.

Another way to fix this is to give Ostwind is to give it a toggle ability disables Ostwind guns from firing while it is moving. That way it becomes easier to micro for the player when the Ostwind should fire, and when it should relocate.

With either fix applied, Ostwind becomes the agile melee-range murder counter-part to the Centaur.

Flak Halftrack is useless on its own right :P

I'd be happy just with both Hold Fire and Reload buttons to ensure it will always fire only when I want it to and always be available to fire fully as combat starts. Kiting is a real pain when it wastes shots on the move and frequently fires when still only after it has already wasted shots.

That only worked because the squads were in heavy cover and hit from behind so all the explosive shells didn't have a chance to overshoot/scatter like they normally would - works the same way if you would drive an Ostwind Etc. behind a squad against sandbangs - Tightrope covered it in one of his videos.

Mr. Smith I think the indirect buffs to the Centaur have to be acknowledged with the buffs to the Rak as well (which are indirect nerfs to the Centaur). With a longer more deadly AT gun the Centaur has to play back lest it get fausted and destroyed by long range fire. Although I will admit that it was possible to overwhelm it before with a volks blob.

Its slow but deadly. Any player who didn't get their infantry out of the way rightly deserves to be wiped because its so very slow and obvious.

Ostwind is fine. It can counter light armor and act in co-op with AT to finish of dying tanks. OKW flak should be treated as a mobile emplacement and deployed as such.

a nerf to the cromwell hurt the british faction in general. it's ridiculous to spin it into a positive for the centaur.

the centaur was indirectly buffed due to the removal of the schreck blob, but that's unrelated to the cromwell nerf.

I completely missphrased what I wanted to say. A Cromwell nerf doesn't equate a Centaur buff. It's more like:
- If you relied on crushing faustless Volks pre-patch, consider Centaur for doing the job now.
- Kiting blobs with Centaur post-patch is easier than crushing faust-blobs
