Pio spamm -_-

Im sick and tired of every1 doing pio spamm ! The dimensions of bigger 1v1 maps rly encourage this , since small arms dmg is not rly that good, pios can sustain cons for some time while making much dmg in close quarter... Everytime its couple of pios , OP and rush flamer HF and scout car with pgrens to overun guards and then quick tanks (note: mg bunkers on fuel is constant)
I dont have habbit of complaining , and i rly do like the game, but this is killing my wish to further play , I just cant deal with that playstyle
If any1 got an idea how to deal with it pls share it with me , cuz i have tried every god damn thing , and i cant just cant find a way to deal with it and im tired of it srsly :<
If there arent any good tactics to beat this imo either nerf pios a bit since they are 200mp still no problem going against cons or engs both 240
Or make smaller 1v1 maps ,only Kholodny Ferma feels like true 1v1 map, others are just so wast, thats just my opinion.
Cheers

simple sonscript spam should do it, because conscripts are usually MUCH stronger than pios. when they are in cover and pios rush at them, you should win these engagements. a fast t70 pretty much counters german T2, if you kite shrecked pgrens and flank atguns!

Pio spam usually indicates a quick tech to t2 and pgren spam, which will dominate conscripts and t70s once some of them get panzerschreks. Best off getting a couple of clown cars/snipers, and a guard squad after the opening stage.

Otherwise conscripts will handle pios alone.

if you kite with your t70 well enough, you should be able to kill pgrens. M3s might be okay, if you have enough time, to kick him off the map, before he can build his t2

People pio spam because t1 is so wack, especially considering once soviets start building clown cars it totally negates german t1. This is the same reason pio spam appeared in coh. The brits so easy overwhelmed wehrmacht t1. And Soviets can do that within a few minutes of the start of the game.

I don't understand why relic made a lot of the odd tier and cost choices they did. This game feels like gimmicks vs counters and workaround gimmicks, even more so than tales of valor. Im at lvl 70 ish something now and I'm not even really having fun playing. I play only because i spent 100 dollars on it. Whatever magic the original coh had Coh2 threw most of that out of the window. Why anyone ever ever builds t1 as german is beyond me considering how all the soviet player has to do is decide to fight from the start with vehicles instead of inf.

Even if you can stand your ground building t1 and then go t2 as ostheer, your going to be on your backfoot all game. And thats the worst place to be when the su 85 onslaught begins.

Pio Spam doesn't really work well at all. They don't stick up to anything in combat except Combat Engineers, and that's touch and go.

If the German manages to maintain a serious level of aggressiveness and out plays you in terms of micro, map awareness and map control, a 3 or 4 Pio build can be ridiculously effective if it has the right support elements.

But in reality if you're facing Pio spam just spam Conscripts and preemptively build some Anti-Tank. They're not going to have all those repair units around and not take advantage of it.

Conscripts out-DPS Pioneers at all ranges, and have more health than them. They're more expensive but they're the most efficient counter because they scale extremely well into the late game.

U guys are making all these suggestions... i have tried, m3+sniper with guards, tried 4 cons team, but even so the enemy dominates me , mg bunkers on fuel points ok takes some time to take out , and all that delays my teching and prevents me from taking fuel while german builds 2 OPs and gets the panzer before i can get t70 and flamer hf eats my guards even with button, HTD helps a bit but still pio flamer or pgren nade takes out, believe me guys srsly ive tryied everything except mass cons, i will try that , maybe can get by with couple more cons with HTD + quick guards and AT nades

Nullist, i have no problems killing pios i can handle that, but enemy has much more fuel and i have problem killing flamer HF + 222, guards+at nade hardly helps cuz pgrens take out my guards, clowncar also dies before i can kill 222, and also enemy has so much munition he quickly gets shrecks and flamer hf... and gets panzer4 , 5-6 minutes before i can make tier 4 building

get cons out, go for t2 and get maxims (suppressed pgrens and pios are useless), next get at gun for bunker killer and HT killer. at this point, your opponent has lost so much ground and/or units/structures that he is way behind in economy. gg

also pios only win against conscripts in a 2v1 situation and you will still make one of the pio squads retreat

its not so easy, by the time soviets have more than one conscript, pios can cap 4 or more points. And then cap around or stall conscripts while the others cap points. Then quick into t2 and pgs a flamers. This goes double if the soviets tries to build any buildings at the start. I usually take half the map before i see a maxim or sniper clown car. And by then I am queuing up my response to their build. Most of the time i feel bad about doing this as my pg run them down like dogs, until we get to the part of the game where there are never ending su 85s. Sniping everything at ungodly ranges then drag racing backwards out of danger.....

Pio spam map control is unstoppable(not unbeatable) because you cant outnumber them and be at many places at once. But the only advantage that gives germans is quick access to tier 2. Grens are weak and get pushed around, a lot of soviet players are used to roaming freely and have solo units trying to take map control. But if you are fighting tier 2 you have to fight in numbers. My goal is to hunt down single conscripts feeling bold enough to wander alone..

1 conscript vs 1 pg= pg wins. 2 conscripts vs 1 pg= Soviet Win. Even if you only kill 2 of the pgs, that's 90 manpower, which means more delay in pg squad 2 or 3.

Simple and short, dont play vs t2 like you would vs t1 when you know the other player is going early t2

Didnt tried that actually... seems viable and logical, will test it out
Much thnx on the info

He rolls in flamer Halftrack before panzergrenadiers, how to beat that? pgrens > guards , flamer > cons+guards (when both flamers are directed at infantry) , note pgrens constantly reinforce

He has flamer you have 2 conscripts and at nades. Even if he is kiting you that means he isn't roasting you. But with at nades and multiple conscripts you massively negate the usefulness of the flamer half trak. Not likely to have pgs on top of flamer because its more mobile, but in the case you are fighting a flamer with pgs right on top, you are in and have been in range to at nade. Do what you can to the flamer then retreat. Pgs have a very short effective range. If the flamer is on top of your conscript and guards, and a Pg comes in to the fray, you missed your chance long ago.

Just a note about reinforcing Pgs in a non essential fray, is a manpower drain for the german player. So if you can kill men that cost 45 mp to replace, do it for as long as you can. Assuming you are not sacrificing squads.

Thats the theory , yet practice showed different unfortunately , my cons get roasted bro and pzgrens are on cons while hf is reversing and still firing, and if 2 of those teams are close, boy that bundle sure blows you up cuz u can predict cons will be chasing
Even better what u can do as german is to let cons come close (2 teams hopefully) , and just as they prepare to throw AT nades u can throw bundle on their place and boom there goes them... btw Stg44 rock on mid-close range, they are pretty effective on move as well

If the german has 170 munitions to use there is no reason you shouldnt be able to throw at nades at the flamer unless its kiting( but if its attacking you , your nades are in range). Once you go into animation it is going to hit. Period. The only scenario I see it being a problem is if you were rushed by pgs then flamer came in. But you lost that fight anyway, so should've already retreated. If you get trumped, give that battle up fight them on better terms.
