I'm skeptical. I prefer my 40k at the sub-Titan level. I actually liked the scale of DoW2, despite its other failures. It lets you balance things closer to the lore, while the DoW1 scale is inevitably closer to the tabletop. This seems even bigger than that. But, maybe going for its own style is for the best.

This, however...

CALL UP YOUR ELITE
Take your battle plans to another level by deploying powerful collectible elite squads, each boasting their own special abilities and bonuses that will help you unlock and develop new attacking strategies to conquer your foes.

So pay to win hero squads you customize and lock-in pre-battle? If so, they've managed to combine two of my most hated things once again. I guess after CoH2 Commanders I shouldn't be surprised. Why is this the future of RTS games?

I wish they would go back to what they did with DoW1. FeelsBadMan
Base building, grey textures, dystopian atmosphere. Man i loved that game.

Edit: I think the base game in Dow1 and 2 always consisted of Eldar, Orks and Space Marines. It was to be expected that theyll use the same dlc system for dow3.

Imperial Knights and Wraithknights aren't the Titan level. Titans are bigger. I think the Warhound, the smallest Imperial Titan, is either half again or twice as big as the Imperial Knight.

Ah, thanks. I see something big I'm not familiar with and assume it must be Epic: Armageddon stuff.

Yea, here's some pictures for comparison. There's a Warhound Titan between two Imperial Knights.

And then the Warhound, the smallest of the titans, compared with its much larger brethren.

I guess that's not so bad. Better than the SM super-unit being a Land Raider (though those better be in still).

Don't get your hopes up. COH2's "new" engine brings nothing new to the table except more particle effects and blizzards.

To be fair though, Sega could really benefit from having an E-sports ready RTS in their catalogue..

Oh wait...

Honestly, while I don't like the idea of a Starcraft clone, I think this is the right move for Relic. It seems like they will segment the CoH and DoW franchises to cater to slightly different groups of players, and this is a good thing. The biggest problem with DoW2 is that it tried to be like CoH - so at best it would take players from Relic's own other game, and at worse it would just fail. It was the former for some time, and then the latter.

A more APM-based SC-clone DoW will cater to players currently outside of Relic's scope, and a more successful Relic will eventually be felt in the CoH franchise as well.
