I like it, it's good at short to medium range and is great on the move. It's better than he grenadiers standard Kar8k at all ranges, but only marginally at far. The lmg42 is much better at long range, of course. If you go a g43 commander i like to have 4 grens, 2 with upgrade 2 mg42s, and have them work in pairs. Remember to chase retreating squads, the high moving accuracy is great for this.

It's pretty great on pgrens since it's great on the move + up close with pairs well with the mp44's.
On grenadiers it comes down to preference.

G43 is good at medium range, they are cheap and can be fired while moving.

I actually prefer it over the MG42 upgrade. Simply because it´s way cheaper to equip 4 Grens with G43s than the former. 4x45 ammo=180 ammo vs 4x60 ammo = 240 ammo. That´s some extra grenades or a medic bunker upgrade for free.
Also it means your Grens can be more mobile. I hate having them stand behind cover all the time not being able to chase down infantry with their full firepower when carrying the MG42.
A smaller advantage of the G43 is that it doesn´t drop. Indeed this means you can´t take it up yourself. But there are quite a few games I lost because the other player had my MG42.

Out of the 35 range StG44s can shoot up to
By 32%
So yeah, probably not worth it unless your enemy is spamming mortars for some reason.

Honestly I've found it better. Let me enjoy my placebo. I have a dream of interrogating dudes but keep forgetting to use it to the chagrin of my buddy who watches some of my games.
I think it's better on the move because the burst multi on the mp44 when moving is 0.375. But I'll trust someone who understands the stats better already thought of that.

They should make improve G-43s for Panzergrenadiers, because right now, it's a complete waste of munition to buy it for them.

Good on Grens, alright as a budget-buy on Storms or to augment the Shrek if you've got munis for whatever reason and worthless on Pgrens. They should probably get their own version.
