maybe because CS has the complexity of peeling a banana?

I know this is off topic but I just wanted to point out that I think that you are wrong and that CSGO has made it as an esport because it combines complex strategy with skill and teamwork

Game is dieing, better put your time in a game that's better supported and has a bit of a future.

IMO.

no, the basic principles of this game are easy, plain and boring (learning recoil patterns by heart and learning map spots by heart), there is no sprinting, no going prone, no stamina, no suppression no nothing.

Timings, spawns, where to throw smoke nades (most important, every map has 20 Minutes guides on youtube for all the smoke spots), how to Pop Flash on each map, your teams economy/enemies one, map awareness and map reading, anticipate to your enemies tactic in the current round.

I really wouldnt call it complex like a banana if you are in higher elos in csgo.

The thing about coh hard to pick up again after a break is more about APM for me personally and keeping track of all your units takes some time again.

Welcome. There was a thread with a bunch of good players volunteering to mentor new players. Couldn't find it, maybe other guys could give you the link.

I feel like Mechanized Assault is a bit of a newbie trap. Assault Grenadiers are just barely worth using since their dps is poor and their scaling isn't good.

Lightning War is easily the best Wehr commander since the anti-tank Stuka loiter is amazing. Also, Spearhead is awesome even if you never call in a mortar halftrack since Panzer Tactician is the most overpowered ability in the game.

Since you're an aggressive player USF and OKW are definitely the choice.

Cheers!

Think what you want, but there's a reason why CS has been a very long lasting and successful competitive game, and why COH2 has never been :)

Don't compare an RTS to an FPS. Not only is it an unfair comparison, but they are completely different genres.

Yes but CSGO is an esport and COH2 is not, for the reasons I stated earlier, that CSGO combines complex team strategy with balance... doesn't matter that they're different genres.

Welcome to the Wehrmacht my friend! The hardest life to choose from, but once you learn how to properly use this faction, you should be able to easily learn the other ones in a breeze.
