ITALIAN ARMY for CoH2: (GrenadierIT19)
This my second version for the italian army i want to have in game, i hope that Relic will try to implement the italians in this game for many reasons:
• They fought on many fronts (eastern, western and mediterranean)
• They will be a different playstile as an axis faction
• Now it’ll be 3 allied factions vs 3 axis factions
• Now it’s really allies vs axis and not allies vs germany
• Because in CoH2 there are no supply or numbers built problems, the italian army will have nice tanks to stand the other armies, tanks that had been built in few numbers compared to T34s, Shermans and PzIV but in game there are very rare tanks as Sturmtiger and Jagdtiger
This Italian Army is set in 1943, there are the famous vehicles produced prior 1943 and some vehicles produced in 1943 that saw action, all those tanks have been produced more than Sturmtigers (if some people say that those tanks are too rare)
EVERY MORTAR AND HOWITZER HAS THE ABILITY TO CEASE FIRE
EVERY AT GUN, TANK AND ARMOURED CAR HAS THE ABILITY TO CHOOSE BETWEEN SHOOTING AT EVERYTHING OR FIRING AT VEHICLES
The italian army starts with a Genieri squad and 400 manpower, 0 ammo and 35 fuel
The units that appear if you conquer a medic station capture point are the medics unlockable in the Offensive Operation Center
The units that appear if you conquer a repair station capture point are the engineers unlockable in the Defensive Operation Center
The buildings must be unlocked by upgrading the HQ with the special abilities, the abilities mustn’t be unlocked in order, the player has to choose what to upgrade (if he wants to use an aggressive strategy or defensive strategy, the third buildable tier is made to complete T1 or T2 or both)
The Headquarter gives the basic units, i think this buildings should be represented as a great bunker with an italian flag on the side + a radio antenna
The Offensive Operations Center gives the Bersaglieri (good to assault), the Cannone 47/32 (very mobile an good at destroying light and medium tanks, it works well against infantry too), the SPA Dovunque 35 Protetto (to transport units faster) and the M15/42 (to start pushing with tanks and supporting the infantry), i think this buildings might be tent with an italian flag on the top
The Defensive Operations Center gives the Breda M37 HMG (obviously to suppress enemy units and protect a great area), the Cannone 75/32 (to destroy the tanks), the L3/33 (to kill great numbers of infantry soldiers and light vehicles, the upgrades will specialize the L3/33, read below) and the Semovente 75/18 (the SPG to face the enemy tanks), i think this buildings might be bunker (smaller than the HQ) i think that this could have a machine gunner on the top which can defend the building from infantry and light vehicles
The Joint Operations Center gives the Brixia 45mm Mortar (instead of a great 81mm mortar, even if the damage and the area of the explosion is smaller, the rate of fire is higher and the crew can move faster), the L6/40 (good at making ambushes and smashing the infantry and light vehicles), the Semovente 90/53 (to fight also the heavier tanks) and the Officer (to help the infantry attacking and defending), i think that this building should be a basement which its top is visible (something like soviet T2 or german T1)

This faction looks really nice. As you already said it would make "Axis" the real Axis, not only german Axis, and finally balance the game out in terms of factions per side. If Relic would develop htis, add some cool maps, an awesome soundtrack and some funny italian voice lines I would definitely buy it.
Yes, alongside the italian faction they should add 8/10 maps as it was the same with WFA and UKF, maps which take place in Italy (Operation Husky, Montecassino, Anzio, Gothic Line, Moro River, etc.).
I also would like to have maps in Africa like Tobruk, El Alamein, Gazala, Keren, Bir Hacheim, Kasserine and Tunis but adding Africa could be a bit risky because i don't know if soviets had desert uniforms (their regular summer skins wouldn't look bad in an african battlefield, but they might sound very unrealistic).
Also it could be possible adding some maps on generally Southern Europe like Belgrade, Crete, Elaia - Kalamas, Operation Dragoon and so on.
Obviously this Mediterranean/Southern European expansion would have its own soundtrack!
The only thing I hope Relic won't do is giving italians the typical stereotype of italian speaker (always a very unrealistic neapolitan accent or It's me Mario!).
The italian accent should not change they way you would pronounce words in english, instead they should let italian actors trying to pronounce that word with the italian way you pronounce those letters, like the R (which is very very different from the english R pronunciation), the TH in italian doesn't exist (the italian letter which might sound similar is the D), the Vowels in italian have a different sound.
The accents are the hardest part i think, please call for italian dubbers/actors and not trying to imitate an italian accent with foreign actors, it would only be stupid, unrealistic and would go wrong.
And please again no stupid italian accent from Brooklyn (Mamma Mia! It's me Mario!), standard italian pronunciation.

I'm sorry but I don't have time to read the whole text (and I'm sure 95% of users here won't), but I still am not in favour of an Italian faction simply because their tanks were paper and CoH is all about tanks after about 15 minutes in game.
Yeah, otherwise a nice idea. Hard to implement any more factions tbh.

Maybe if you read, just the units in the buildings and commanders you would change your idea.
Paper tanks, ok ... if you read the units list it's obvious you would see paper tanks because there are light tanks.
It's very funny like every people who knows nothing thinks that italians only had M13/40, L6/40 which are LIGHT tanks even if the M13 was considered Medium for the italian army, actually it is a light tank.
CoH has many paper tanks (this fantastic word paper tanks) like the M8, Stuart, T-70, Luchs, ... and noone seems to be upset for this.
CoH isn't all about tanks after about 15 minutes in game, obviously during the late game you'll see many heavy tanks but look at USF, they can win late game but Pershing isn't so common. I'm primarily an USF player and i choose often Heavy Cavalry Commander only for the Rangers and Smoke, Pershing isn't so necessary.
USF were able to win also without Pershing, if you take a look at the italian army i made, if you just read this wall of text.
Please don't be so stupid to say OMG Italians = NO, SHIT, PIZZA.
Just read before you judge!

Also Grittle's idea was good, i prefer mine because we have enough germans i think, but his idea wasn't bad. He should write it here on CoH2.org.

Design/Balance wise I am not sure, some of the buildings/tech options are too general and they might offer too many options/units for the COH2 unit roster. But the starting point seems good and they would certainly be "unique"

nice post man. Italians will work nly if the are aloud to use German tanks. which is fine. though i know they used p3s and p4s. dont about any better tanks

Of course, if you look at the commanders you can see the "German Support Commander" it is a needed commander obviously, an Italian faction must have a German support commander. You can't forget what they did to help Italians (we all know that Germans helped Italians everytime).

Grazie mille! The units are 15 that might be 16 if you consider the emplacement (Cannnone da 75/46), every faction has 15 stock units, only soviets have 14.
I am working on the unit stats, i have done many things about infantry weapons, vehicles but not for the special weapons like grenades, mortars, etc.
I hope that Relic will consider this!

You see, I wish I had the time and energy to get my Italian/German Army idea up from the depths of Tartarus (I.E Official Forums, my personal domain)but it's currently under renovations that probably would be effective January of 2017, and that I only have an outline of the idea saved in my comp, so we must wait...
It's a pity. Your idea is very nice! If my italian army idea wouldn't be suitable for CoH2 (even if i don't think so), i will support your army until the end!

Have u never played the best strategy game for WW2 - HoI2? or at least next to its kin - Darkest Hour https://www.paradoxplaza.com/games/darkest-hour?___store=eu - I advice everyone to get this actually.. These games freshened up my gamingworld into massive strategy world. From Hoi2 - to Darkest hour
And best part u can get it only for 10 euros in steam.. (2 in sale), and most best part.. they still make patches for this game, and yeah.. its historically balanced

yea i've played Darkest hour, i've accomplished world conquest with all major powers, except italy because they simply sucks
