The fact that the Axis gets emplacements is irrelevant. The reason why the British emplacements work different (and thus get Brace) compared to Axis is because the faction is built around them. For the Axis, we have the Ostheer as the Defensive-themed faction but they focus more on Support weapons and units (Mortar, MG42, Sniper, Mortar Halftrack, PaK etc).
So here we have asymmetrical design: Ostheer-Defensive-Support Weapons and British-Defensive-Emplacements. Same way that we have: Oberkommando West-Offensive-Vehicles and United States Forces-Aggressive-Infantry. Soviets sit in that corner in the room, because they have no definition and nothing going for them.
Any fixes to sort balance for a faction needs to take into consideration of these designs.
the cure for cancer (aka emplacement)

to say that the british is built around emplacement is ridiculous. It's an strategy for the british, but it does not and should not define their faction.
there's three emplacements for the british, the 17 pounder, the bofor, and the mortar.
the 17 pounder's function can be performed by the 6 pounder and the firefly.
the bofor is an optional tech that's exclusive with the AEC.
the mortar emplacement is the only emplacement the british doesn't get a mobile alternative.
The mortar emplacement is really the only emplacement the british is stuck using.

Emplacements develop poor play and boring counter play. The new commander however is something else. On small maps (even some 3v3 and 4v4) its counter barrage prevents all meaningful indirect fire on emplacements and the game becomes a disgusting Brit creep. That has more to do with the ability being too effective for cost.
I would like to see emplacements at least made to require better player input in the form of better stats for barrage vs. auto fire on mortars, Bofors shooting less quickly but being cheaper, so infantry have some chance to damage it, and 17 pdr getting an firing arc (like every other weapon) having its range inc to 85 and making it decrewable instead of a giant damage sponge.

Brit emplacements are stronk.
But most of the time peoples efforts to counter them are unimaginative and lack luster.
Given brace, you cant just expect to put a bit of indirect fire in on it and be done with it.
Try forcing brace, then move in with army to take out supporting troops, ignore it while its braced.
Only use off maps on them as brace wears off, so you always get full damage from them.
Try to secure forward areas early in game as its harder for brits to dislodge early buildings. This might result in more defensive mortar pits to dislodge you, which gives you more breathing space on the map.
Fast FHT used well can really hurt them and possibly force them to get AEC, locking out bofors and delaying cromwells.
Just trying to put constructive counters forward. Arguing weather 2 Ost morats will counter or not is kinda 2 dimentional.
