Compare the T34 to the Ost P4 and suddenly the T34 doesnt look so bad.

+1

Statistical Comparison:

Panzer IV:

T-34/76:

Panzer IV 75mm (Main Gun):

3x more DPS (far) on the machineguns, 1 sec less reload time for the main gun, Blitzkrieg with vet1 and armor increase with vet2. 10 penetration more, 0.50 lower scatter, 30 more armor points.

Still looks bad to me.

Now look at the price...

Make the MGs reliable and slightly stronger, shuffle the cost to be 90 fuel and like 200 mp so it can be spammed.

Gladly. Soviet will pay atleast 255 fuel for a T-34.

P4: -5+40+45+75+125= 280

But who plays without light vehicles and side upgrades?

Let's assume a scoutcar and a halftrack for Ostheer and Halftrack/T-70+ AT grenades for the soviets.

Soviets: +55 or 95 fuel
Ostheer: +65 fuel

I also find those 2 tanks hard to compare, as the T-34 can not scale into late game while the P4 is still excellent defensive tasks such as repelling infantry. Spamming T-34s is not an option as it can be countered easily (especially with Stugs).

Orrrrr...

because we're comparing these 2 units, and these units only, we can assume they didn't spend any fuel before.

Why are people even complaining about T34/76 all the time?

It costs 80 fuel as a MEDIUM.

Incredibly good for spamming, swarming heavies and hunting Pwerfer/Stuka.

You can even use it as capping harassment at vet 1.

I wish Axis has such a cheap ass medium to go hunting katyushas.

The only problem is there isn't really a good spot for it. T4 is a bit too late, while T3 is too early for it. Tier 3.5 is the only spot it would really fit.

The timing is a bit weird but it's not useless at all.

It's a lovely tank to hunt werfer and swarm down Tigers/KT (Dont forget OP Ram)

Why is T3 too early for the T-34/76? Hell, if you really want, you can make it require a ~40 fuel upgrade in T3 to unlock. Then everyone is happy.

T-34/76 has some very niche roles it fills, kind of a shame since this is pretty much the exact opposite it was IRL.

Yea, I'd agree with the 20-50 fuel upgrade. T3 is too early because Wehrmacht players will complain about them being forced to go Schrecks (120 Muni), or Pak 40 (320 MP) every game when facing soviets. So really, idk, but it would piss off a lot of fanboys, and everyone knows to not piss off the fanboy army. They'll probably hack into the website, find your IP for suggesting it, then hunt you down using fake, replica, K98s, while also wearing paper mache stahlhelms.

Instead, the Kv-1 could get a decrease in it's cp requirement, while still remaining in the doctrine.

Main issue I see here is T34/76 encroaching on the time-frame where su-76 is viable. That and the fact it can now challenge mein 222s :foreveralone:

The idea that the T34/76, the most produced tank variant of the war, should be restricted only to specific doctrines is silly.

There is nothing wrong with the T34/76, only in the way people use it. You can't build just 1 and send it out to fight like a p4. A p4 costs 45 more fuel for a reason.

The T34/76 must be used in groups, where it is more than a match for Axis armor. I don't even like the T34/85 because it costs too much for what you get. I prefer using the cheaper, more numerous T34/76, which is my favorite medium tank in the game because I can have so many so cheaply.

Not when you need 2 to have a chance vs 1 P4.

It costs too much to tech. With equal side upgrades and tech to access to same unit types 34/76 comes significantly latter than p4.

Axis is more capable of spaming every main unit type without exeption.

222 251 more spamable than t70 and m5
Puma than 3476
P4 than 3485
Grens, ostrupen, pgrens than cons, shoks, guards.
