Panzerwerfer damage against garrison

The damage multiplier for garrison cover is set to 1 for the Panzerwerfer which causes instant death for units in buildings when being hit. Especially support weapons sufffer from this.

? Allied support weapon with garrison? If I am not mistaken the only support weapon that can garrison is the rakketenwerfer...(R.W.)

Panzerwerfer is broken OP. Especially so vs garrisons. This is even worse than the pre-nerf Centaur. Unsurprisingly, this is largely for the exact same reasons.

1. The garrison damage multiplier is 1

2. The mid AND far AoE distance multipliers are TOO big

3. The damage_all_in_hold property is set to True (i.e., rockets deal damage to all garrisoned units)


So, what happens, when we combine those 3 things together?

1. In the worst case (for the Pwerfer), it only requires 3.4 rockets to land ANYWHERE near the building in order to wipe the entire garrison.

2. The Katyusha needs at LEAST 27 rockets to achieve the same feat


Of course, in most practical cases the Panzerwerfer can wipe the entire garrison with fewer rockets (i.e., if some of them land directly on top of the models). This is strictly because of reasons #1 and #2.

I was going to look at the stats of the panzerwerfer as it seemed to be really strong. Thankfully, Mr.Smith saved me some time. Thanks. This explains a few things.

@Cuddletronic/Spacebus: There seem to be 3 damage multipliers in the game files (this is for all units):
- Far
- Medium
- Near

Was it always the case that we had 3 different damage multipliers, or did the medium one get added recently?

As far as I know mid was always there ...I think usually it is (far+near)/2

Thanks. It seems I cannot find the pre-buff mid-range value for the Panzerwerfer then (coh2-stats.com).

also it's easy to dodge: just leave house when you hear it.

Where were you when katy had 0.3 modifier and everyone said it's OP?

It does not leave any chances to survive for crew weapons. How is that balanced?

It's auto-wipe in a second agasint single squad.
Does not matter if it's open field, garrison, trenches. Even you retreat in 1-2sec after rockets sound you gonna die.

Oh ye, 3 squads now are blob (when people say somthing about blob i will be send tham that video with 2 rifles and 1 cap and 2 RE with zooks :D).
But there strat looks interesting PG with shrek into PW and opels.

What a Genius, when those Katyusha was OP because it even deal damage to tanks and OKW truck, 2 volleys can take down the truck to 25% health.
