Heavy Tank Use

Has anyone else noticed that heavy tank (Except the king tiger) use has plummeted? I haven't seen someone send out a Tiger, IS-2/ISU, KV, or Pershing in quite awhile. Last Time I did see one in use was sometime during late October. Is it just because of the matches I get into, or are heavies no longer useful? I don't know exactly why this is, but I think it might have to do with the limitation to 1 heavy on the field at a time. Anyone seeing this?

pershing is a joke , why would you wait 13 cps and 230 gardening fuel to spent in a medium tank that does not help you, at all ? because with a pershing you cant rush nothing, so is better take m36 with sherman's or calliopes ...

It's great isn't it? It's because you can no longer easily stall for a heavy tank without teching. They increased the cp requirement for all heavies by 2.

Anyone else remember when people could have an army of (3+) tigers if the match was stalled that long (Most likely annihilation gamemode)?

I remember when CoH2 came out, there was a video of six IS-2s produced by this one player before he compstomped his opponent in 4v4.

In fact, I prefer to fight 2 Tigers (2v2) than 3 Stugs and 2 Pz4.

It's so easy to focus on 1 big target.

Devs wanted to limit heavy tank use and promote light vehicle phase and that is exactly what happened.

Panther hard outperform all axis heavy armours. Why tiger? Non-doctrine Panther do AT better.
Alternative Ost Stug is shining now.

Not Tiger Ace.

Just lost a 1v1 (low rank, I'm around 500, opponent was 700) to the "I-win button." Opponent didn't choose his commander until 16 CP, though I guess I should have prepared better for it (he drove right down the fucking road so I absolutely should have laid an M6 mine there).

I figured my two Easy 8s + Jackson + smattering of Zooks could handle a Tiger when up 450 to 45 or so. Nope, not Tiger Ace. Thing rolls onto the field w/ a Panzer IV + Stug backing it up and just destroys everything. I lose.

Opponent was getting +3 fuel and had 101 fuel when he called it in.

So yes, I still see heavy tank use.

I really do enjoy there being a larger light vehicle phase, but it still would be nice to still have have a final heavy tank phase where there could be multiple heavies on the field for those occasional 1 hour or longer games.

Loolololol wat. You must play against noobs then, because you obviously destroy them in the early game,

Bro do you even have the commander? Pershing performs quite nicely, solid main gun against tanks and infantry, 45 range, derpy armour, but lacklustre on health. Supported by a jackson or infantry, it can really clean up. It's no 1 tank army, and it's no king tiger, so l2p it.

True, on occasion I see the tanks mainly for specific reason, which I am glad for because heavy tank use was not common to begin with. It's actually kinda ironic that players now face the same issues that many commanders face during that war, "is the wait and resources worth the heavy armor support?", that's for you to decide.
