Can we stop calling light tank play a "rush". Rush implies you forgo something. If a light vehicle or light tank is your first big fuel purchase, you aren't really forgoing anything.

it is if your are sacrificing more early infantry and therefor mapcontrol. to be fair, that usually isnt the case though.

Maybe, but there is a generally accepted limit on the number of infantry you can build for bleed becomes a problem. That number usually comes before you have hte fuel though

To be fair, the call-in meta lasted a pretty long while.

222 is a light vehicle counter (m3, m20, bren carrier). It's cheap only 210/15 and does nice damage to inf in the open do not waste time shooting units in garissions or heavy cover. I think it's very efficient.

being a light vehicle counter is one of the most niche job ever. The ostheer are facing down stuarts and t70 on a regular basis and their t2 arsenal just doesn't cut it.

the ostheer generally do OKAY against the USF or the SOV up until the point the stuart or t70 show up.

Which is retarded argument, since more infantry=more map control=more fuel for that tank.

Pak, fausts, shreks or mines (realistically some combination, you won't have the muni for all of it) are a fine soft-counter for t70/stuart. It doesn't make sense for ostheer t2 to be able to hard-counter allied light tanks. Building light tanks is a gamble because they have a fairly narrow window of opportunity and don't have much use in the late-game (stuart especially, t70 recon mode has some good utility). If you give ostheer the ability to shut down allied light tanks as soon as they hit the field that will just push light vehicles back into irrelevance.

I define more or less the same way, although more involved with how fast you acquire it. Like a 6 minutes luchs is what I call a rush.

With great power comes great responsibility.

the US and OKW both can get their light tank at around the same time they both get decent anti-tank capabilities themselves.

the light tank have 400 hp for a reason. It is to give them durability and longevity in the face of anti-tank.

Light tanks are strong enough to take a few hits from early game AT, but fragile enough that they take a high amount of micro to use. Yes, if you're facing a decent player your t2 AT options will struggle to finish off their light tank but they are sufficient to keep them at bay until heavier units can arrive to render that light tank worthless.

I still don't get your argument, what change are you proposing? That the 222 can counter units which are more expensive, arrive later, and have more impact on teching? That Ostheer t2 can hard-counter light tanks pointless and bring back the days of everyone stalling with low-tier units straight into late-game tanks and callins?
