This same applies to grenadiers, they're pretty useless without upgrades but once you grab LMG42s they start wrecking shit

Use it to slow Shocks troops and other assault units that are coming at you and to block line of sight, once they're smoked go back and grab some range to have a better chance while fighting

no point on using a single squad closing because obers with stg will cut them to pieces...use the damaging smoke on either large blobs on choke points,disrupt los or mainly what i use for slowing down retreating unit to wipe them our..that's my 2 cents

Obers are perfectly fine, with STGs they are meat grinders. The issue lies with USF inf OP for cost. Tone down rifles inf vet.....

I would like to add that there is no voice line of Obers when they start upgrading for a mg34 (when starting to get a infrared stgg there is one).
Since accomplishing maximum polish should be in Relic's interest also, I can see that going back to Obers starting with the mg34 with stats adjustments could be the more ideal solution.

Obers need to moved to either the med truck or the mech truch but their lmg should only be available when okw reaches the flak truck. The problem with the okw is that they can only buy AT infantry or support infantry but no good real AI infantry until tier 4 . it disrupts their game quite a bit especially in 1vs1.

First of all: remove passive suppression. Just give it a vet4 ability that lets you suppress like Paras1919 or RE (without RA penalty obvious)

That actually could work. It was redonk on M1919A6 Rifles for sure, but there'll be far less Obers than M1919A6 Rifles can be, and it'll certainly hurt a lot more having one's Obers get hit by the inevitable explosives used against them than Rifles.
Probably should still add a cooldown on the ability though.
