Don't see why the SU76 is getting hate. With 3 of them and enough distance you can dominate panthers quite effectively.

I'm defending it, not hating it :snfBarton: but ok, SU76 sucks hard, I hate it so much, is it okay now :snfBarton:

...Why are you even giving your input on the current state of Soviet progression if you have not played since before the July patch?

As Katitof stated it did get a massive boost. I'm surprised you haven't seen any as they're now a core/vital unit for Soviets that can be used in plenty of situations.

June 23rd Patch Notes

SU-76
The performance of the Su-76 was not meeting our expectations. We felt its biggest problem was its lack of define role. We decided to improve the stats of the SU-76 so it can serve as a light tank destroyer. The SU-76 will still retain its versatility through the use of its barrage ability.

Health increased from 320 to 400
Penetration increased from 90/ 100/ 110 to 180/ 190 / 200
Cost increased from 240/70 to 280 / 75

Random note about the SU-76, it can crush infantry if you're really really desperate :D

Now onto whether or not the tech changes were good, I say they are. Sure it's more linear and some people might hate that but people need to realize that when compared to Ostheer T4 for Soviets =/= T4 for Ostheer. It's more comparable to Ostheer T3. Furthermore the Soviet starting buildings are much easier to back-tech to now and you don't have to rush light armour if you really don't want though. Not sure why you wouldn't however as they're all good vehicles, possibly overshadowing Soviet T4.

Nah, SU-76 either needs a nerf or SU-85 needs a buff.

Why does it need a nerf? Its soft but hard hitting. It fits in line with the Soviet faction and can be easily countered.

Not sure if troll or haven't play SU in a while. Su76 is really good nowadays.

OP: disagree. Unit location is fine as it is now. I'm on the opinion that mp cost for T4 for both EFA could be tweaked around.

I think it's penetration should be nerfed just a bit, that's it.

Holy shit. I used it a couple times but figured I just got lucky on the penetration. (Mostly shot guys in the butt so I wasn't surprised when it penetrated.)

Novemberish last year was the last replay I uploaded, so probably about then. Played 70 hours in the last 2 weeks or so though. So roughly a year gap.

I've played 70 hours in the last two weeks, about 1/4 of that is with Soviets. I just never noticed a difference with the Su76 using it and never saw anyone use it against me when played Germans. (But you know, I learned a long time ago to not try and use it against medium armour so I only used it from the rear and thought I got lucky on pen) I still don't like that tech is basically linear now, I quite liked having the versatility Soviets used to have.

It certainly seems like a more valid unit now. I'll have to experiment with some new build orders.

That explains my confusion. I try to respect others' opinions, but there is a big difference between "su-76 is OP" and "su-76 has the same gun as the t-70."

That'a the whole point. You had to make teching decisions based on the situation. Now Soviets may as well have a fucking linear tech tree like Ostheer.

I can't agree with u more. But not many people like old soviet style which is quite trilling. I just miss versatility of soviet and it's aggressive style. Nowadays Soviet's tech tree is very stable and soviet players can get all cards to deal with Axis. it gives player very controllable situation which makes game very predictable. I hate it because it doesn't help much to reverse situation for Soviet or Axis players. However, I think many people like controllable situation more than unpredictable situation. Well that's okay but it is just boring to me.

Why factions feels so boring is because high tech only gives more armor or arty and never any elite infantry or infantry upgrades which is badly needed to make the game feel more strategic.

OP : Disagree. Soviet T3 is now much more exciting as each units it provide is completly différent and fight différent ennemys. T70 and M5 where a rare sight before and are very interesting units, both fragile and agile, ideal for flanking. The T34 mays seems a weak unit when you unlock it in the last tier but the cheap cost is a clear indication that this unit must be used by pair or paired with something else (as the ram ability suggest that too). Before, when you builded T3, waiting for 30 more fuel over a t-70 was the correct choice as the T34 could do anything the other units of that tier could do, but better and all at the same time.
Now when you build T4 as soviet, you do it for 2 reasons :
-You need a better lineman tank (t34) to fight ennemy armor
-You need a strong counter to heavy tank or entranched positions.

Wrong. T70 has always been amazing at harassing and kitting units. The whole point (during the M5/T70/T34 era) of getting T3, was to keep the pressure by bleeding your opponent mp. The T70 would be your first unit followed up by some T34 till you had enough resources for your call ins.
