It's the cost of the unit and its up keep that makes IS bad in long game. Also necessity of using cover makes the situational. Sometimes you just can't stay in one.

True but they are good infantry, although expensive.
Their real issue is the sniper. Also the fact that they can upgrade their size to 5 is dumb. They should be 5 man squad by default without the need to upgrade.
Reason why WM sniper is so strong is because he was made to counter Soviets. I doubt they where even thinking about Brits at that time.
So now Brits paying for this with their 4 man squads.

I am surprised how Brits even passed the testing with how they are right now.
But since its Lelic I am not surprised anymore. Not a single patch was done without breaking something.

I agree with PaRaNo1a that the 4 man squad is part of the problem for the Brits, if the other player goes for the Ostheer sniper (and grenadier spam). Because of that I usually make the upgrade as soon as possible to avoid squad wipes. I have figured out that the Brits suffer less in manpower bleed in early game, if I first build 2 MGs, and then make the upgrade, and after that build the second Tommy, so that I get a five man squad of Tommys. But I don't know if this is good, because the Axis players can already in that point have too much troops on the map, so that is difficult to counter that.

There is no trouble to run realism on weapon damage like it is on UKF, but in that case make the other factions have just as realistic damag. Tottaly OP Bofors, Croc and Churchil wouldnt be a problem with just as realisticly good German counterparts.
At the moment Croc an Church are harder to kill then even the Tiger.
I guess is that this is just temporarry so more players will run and buy UKF for some easy wins.
