It seems that mechanized grenadiers (250 halftrack squad) have some sort of exception when it comes to balance changes and still have the extended rifle nade range at vet 2. I'm guessing this can just be a "feature" of the commander? ;)

It's not intended, it's just a side-effect of being a unit so uncommon that Relic literally forgot they existed. Another example of this is the KV-8 45mm and 222's 20mm still have flat penetration.

that halftrack need buff like able to upgrade to mortar HT something, I think most people will willing to pay 60-90mu for it because it can call in as a shock use then turn into something that is useful instead of being useless.

German Mechanized Doctrine has the Grenadier Half-Track, Mechanized Assault Doctrine has the Panzergrenadier Half-Track.

It useless anyway. The HT at least should be able to reinforce.

It is pretty underwhelming to just be expensive mobile green cover. Possible upgrades could be a 250/10 or 250/11 for mobile, light AT or a 250/12 to be a more mobile artillery officer/spotter

Idk, I enjoyed using the PZ Gren version in Mech Assault last patch before the Stug E got nerfed. It has its uses.

1. Quick flank via drive-by of HMG/Mortar/ AT Gun Etc.
2. Quick Capping/Harassment (I personally enjoyed Semois fuel decap)

Of course setting you back fuelwise is a downer but it can be a worthwhile tradeoff if you use it right.

You can "upgrade" it to an OH equivalent of the soviet flamer clown car.In combo with scout car really good at kill retreating squads.

But yeah too expensive.

I don't see a real point to it atm unless you really want drive-by flamers or shreks or are desperate for a unit with a squad inside. Sure it may be good at running down units, but so are a lot of other things that are also more versatile or are not reliant on what's onboard.

And if we're talking about MG, would it be the one the 251 has or the 222?

It should be able to hulldown by itself to give it a mobile pillbox role.
Probably won't do very much though, since it can only garrison regular infantry and not HMGs.
I personally think it should come with a weapon like 37mm or even 50mm gun. MG is useless for a 40 fuel vehicle, it would either perform worse than M20, or it does and is overpowered as it's a giant kubel plus clown car combo.

Well, I always figured part of the 40 fuel payed for the grenadiers having an LMG 42. If we go by 1 fuel = 3 munitions then 20 munitions pays for the LMG and the other 20 fuel + some of the MP for the ability goes to the half-track. Looking at it this way, it's not too out of line with what you pay for other light vehicles, but maybe is a little too high still. It also arrives kinda late. If it came out at 1 CP maybe it'd work since it'd be over priced still but it'd have some shock value.

Or maybe keep it arriving later but bump the fuel cost down to 30?

Permanently Banned
Either it should get an mg that can suppress. Or reinforce. But no matter what it needs m5 armor. Its way too weak.

Whats the point of 251 if 250 can do the exact same thing as it does?
