the OKW P4--a specialist generalist

My initial impression of the P4 was that at 135 fuel, it was a bit over priced, since it was in the same league as the sherman and t34/76. However, on further inspection, this unit is both well priced and makes the game funner. Why? Because it just fits.

At 135 fuel (plus the OKW shortage) it is no doubt priced above its weight class but that's the beauty. The OKW aren't supposed to have a generalist unit. But having 0 kinda sucks and makes the faction gimmicky. With a steeply priced P4, they have a generalist--if they can spare the micro and fuel that is. It's a sort of specialist generalist. That is, it's specialization IS being a generalist.

It's pretty neat I think.

Also, while Elite armor still sucks, it's an improvement for the doctrine nonetheless. The Troll Tiger gives it a reason to pick and buildable solo P4s are way more useful than the old P4 call in. Also, the P4 is a good platform for HEAT rounds. Panther doesn't need em. Puma is dead if it's facing something that needs them.

All in all great change and I highly recommend this unit (and a 5 fuel adjustment. 135 is a tad steep I feel)

Yes, OKW PIV is a superbe unit and I draw back all my concerns related to its price. OKW feels actualy as a verry good faction choice currently.

I never get a P4 purely because every time i do... i find myself wishing i waited for 40 more fuel because they now have Jacksons/SU85's and i need a panther.

Its overpriced at 135 (should be 125 max).

This unit is my build choice as OKW now instead of Panther. It's a beast against both infantry and Mediums, and really shines at vet 2 onward.

With heavy delay, making it pretty impossible for any faction to wait for call in's, this unit fits perfectly in the game as it stands.

Its much better than Wehrmacht PZ IV, because it has got armor skirts in vet 0 and 5 star vet.

And good luck believing 230 armor tank should cost the same as 180 armor tank with all other stats being same. I can't even tell anymore if you're so naive or so biased to even suggest that laughable change.

I'll be honest, I got the P4 to vet 2, and head on beat an Su-85 yesterday. Of course, it had no AT support, but still...It's damn good now, I love using it. Underestimate it at your peril.

I like that you are allowed to throw arround insults like that, also nice to see that you say suggestions are laughable. You totally dont reinforce that lonely forum warrior stereotype.

Regarding the P4, I really like it how it is right now especially to harass the flanks. Together with a JP i feel confident to take on anything the enemy throws at me.
What concerns me tho is the Sturmtiger, which seems to be a little over the top right now, but that could just be me getting really lucky. I have not seen it used against me but i would like to hear other players impressions.

Now that OKW has a medium their ability to spam infantry cost effectively should be looked into further.

There is zero reason to make a tank larger than a PIV as OKW. If you want AT just get a JPIV. The KT doesn't really serve a purpose anymore as 2 PIV's will get you far, far more bang for your buck.

Which would require to make sherman cheaper, because its weaker, which would require T34 being cheaper which is just a garbage anyway.

See, this is why you're not fixing stuff that isn't broken, you leave it alone.
