Its dirt cheap.
You can't expect much of such low cost vehicle.

Not from a single one at least.

I would like them to be more effective against infantry, but they already are light vehicle soft counter as well. You can't have generalist vehicle at such low price and have it effective against both inf and light armor. Does greyhound still loses to it?

Single one will always be a scout, you need at least two to have some decent Ai firepower.

Never said it shouldn't go up in costs, if they buff it propely I don't care if it costs 5,10,30 more fuel.

But ost needs something effective against light vehicles, I don't mean something that has to kill a T70 or M5 1v1, but just something good enough to chase down a t70 with 1/5 hp that's running away after tanking 2 pak shots with the auto rep.

I would support making it come with autocannon upgrade but cost 30 fuel and more MP.

That still wouldn't excuse buffing it as you'd simply shift muni upgrade cost to mp and fuel cost.

Decreasing muni cost for more fuel and MP is a buff in itself. That 55 is a bonus Teller mine.

Really though with how cheap it is it's a no-brainier unit to build. Increasing cost and performance (through default upgrade) is better.

Invised one post. Please do not judge people if they play different game modes. We all can fit into the game. :)

the magic word is "teller mine"

Tellermine43

This.

The Soviet light vehicle advantage is a calculated risk, just like the vCoH fast Puma / M8 was.

If you lose it to a faust / teller / PAK too quickly then you've put yourself at a serious disadvantage right there. OTOH, if you've got good micro then you deserve to be rewarded for it.

Man, give the new changes a chance. People are theorycrafting like fuck and the patch hasn't even gone live.

T-70s are an option I considered but because Quads can come out faster and are much cheaper.......I can already see the meta now.....triple quads, two upgraded, or 1 upgraded with the other two having flamer engineers in each. :foreveralone:

Good thing Ostheer had Mobile defense buff. Pumas (at 5cp now) + command tank will kill these strats fairly easy.

Hmm, what if we gave the 222 increased pen, and make the upgrade cost 70mu? Making it a soft counter to just about anything, including flanked mediums.

Probably would be too powerful at 15fu, but would be an interesting change.

I have read the next balance patch notes and I lol...

Relic says they want to increase the viability of light vehicle combat. So the T70/M5/SU76 will come out earlier than before by 40 fuel. And they increases OSTHEER Building 3 and Building 4 fuel cost(Stug and Pz4 will be late), then decreases USF T3 building cost(quick STUAT).

So the first T70 needs only 50+80+75-50=155 fuel cost the next patch. (Don't forget 50 fuel is given to soviet at the starting of the game.)

The first STUAT needs only 60+80-40=100 fuel. (Dont't forget 40 fuel is given at the starting.)

Then what does the Ostheer have that time? 222 and 251 will be the designed counters ??? LOL...

You wanna balance the game? Nope, you are destroying the game. You want people to build more light vehicles? Nope, OST players will never build 222 and 251 the next patch, because they must build pak40s (320 MP) first... Then make a quick StugIII or Pz4 to counter the allies light vehicles.

T70s are coming the next patch. Don't forget the Soviet Industry commander... As an ostheer player, I will never play ost the next patch...

Pretty sure the math is off on this. USF don't start with 40 fuel.

The pen isn't the problem, the problem is that it can't reliably do anything to enemy infantry or vehicles.

Do this instead:

222 wet tissue paper armor motorized 2cm staple gun car. Increase armor to 12, 2cm comes standard does 25 damage instead of 20. Raise cost to 250 mp 30-35 fuel. Remove flametracks asinine t3 requirement.

the teller cost 50 munition and does 400 damage. How much HP has a stuart or t70? Anyway enough to kill it or an quad AA for example :P

Hi, my name is Wehrmacht T2 here with a PSA. I'm pretty cool, as I contain not only the most potent, fearsome anti-tank gun in the game, but I also include the most deadly AT infantry. I also produce a vehicle called a Half-Track that while most aren't aware exists anymore, can be used to more safely ferry those fearsome AT infantry around now that T34 rushes won't be the issue they once were! I'm... I'm really great for combined arms play, just please, give me-- Wehrmacht T2-- a chance!

Tellers would be effective if it weren't for the fact that you can put minesweepers in an m5 and detect them while on the run. :foreveralone:

Hi my name is t3 soviets. I can make 3 quads and roflstomp all your units in one fell swoop, all for the cost of roughly a t-70(fuel wise). My flamers in an m5 will kill your paks and grens, my quad m5 will destroy your scoutcar, my infantry supported t1 units with guards will bring forth justice upon you, and don't forget about my 120 of love. :foreveralone:

Do not forget that Puma f**ks the whole soviet T3(T70, M5, SU76) easily, and you just need 5CP to call a Puma.

It is Puma, not T70 or Stuart, that is the king of light armor, and that benefits the most from the upcoming patch which aims to let light armors fight longer.

I feel that Mobile Defense Doctrine will become OP in the future just as CAS and Guard Mortor are at present.

You can easily get a t-70 or su-76 out afterwards to counter the puma, with guards + at nades or mines........not that hard to bait with the quad :foreveralone:

I don't want to judge before I play, but I really question why they want earlier light armour.

Didn't we just go through a year of changes to make infantry combat important?

I agree with pushing back tanks, as t34 and shermans came out too fast, but making light armour come earlier feels like a step in the wrong direction. Pushing back t34 and sherman is enough of a buff to light armour as-is.

Would be great. 221 no one uses for anything but to upgrade to 222.

Funny thing is that i can still use current 222 to kill M15 because that actually has a weakness, but 222 has no chance of killing a m5 quadmount as it shoots a million bullets on the move 360 degrees at 222 thin armor.

I dont mind m5 quadmount much, but... itll be nice if 222 was adjusted to have a possibility to counter the thing.
