I simply love this tank, even if it's not that good like StuGIV in CoH1. Is there any buff in the new upcoming patch? It would be so good to play StuG in a more defensive role... What do u think?

Soon™

The lines of stugs rolling over everything will come... Unless they get flanked or destroyed by AT guns or tank destroyers.

You can thank Dane for the current state of the StugG.

He just HAD to have his "infantry assault gun" or whatever stupidity he crusaded for. I think that was the last time Relic did/will listen to him for balance advice.

It wasn't even that bad prior to its current iteration. It was my go-to counter for most armoured threats and it could still peg infantry pretty well, just not AoE them. Now it's saddening to see it to deflect off medium tanks.

Currently, against vehicles, it only really excels vs American tanks, but you need a meatshield and support and you generally won't get up to that point if you're facing a good USF as that stuff costs more than the Tiger.

I have a distinct feeling the only time the StuG was any good was when the game was in open beta prior to release.

The Stug is still useful with the Elite Troops doctrine. 1 troop straining and it gets TWP. 1 vet1 stugG and a PAK can blow up a sherman in no-time.

It was like, get the StuG G asap and vet it while killing infantry to vet 1 so it can stun tanks. I hope it will get buffed, I loved it in CoH1 even if it was StuG IV

I actually like that the current StuG can also kill infantry. It should have that advantage since it lacks the 60 range of other tank destroyers. The health should be buffed and the price should be increased.

What the stug G cant be good vs infantry and tanks? It can only be one or the other or be shitty at both?

People will complain that versatility means OP.
Which, sometimes it does, but in the case of the StuG-G, I'm confident there are other factors which can be used to balance it easily.

I would think that no one wants a turretless panzer iv... (Well, except he who wants Stug to be a specific way IE useless in practicality) and infantry killing power is not lacking in T3.

Well it's got a low price. Personally I liked it as an AT vehicle. T3's AI is already the Ostwind, and it's AI/AT is already the Panzer IV. That left T3 without any dedicated AT, though.

You can thank Dane for the current state of the StugG.

The only way Dane can have his dream StuG is if the Jagdpanzer and StuG traded places, with the Jagdpanzer as Ostheer T3 AT, and StuG has OKW generalist.

I seriously see no issue with keeping the stugs lackluster, but not useless ai but increasing health armor and pen for a cost increase to like 110 fuel.
