Ostheer mortar smoke barrage

Maybe its just me but I always have to activate the barrage twice for them to start shooting. When i tell them to barrage the first time they just sit there while it says the barrage is active.
Its not a very popular ability but i've noticed it never works for me in game when i need it to. I did some testing against AI and it only works after the second time I activate the barrage.
Does this happen to anyone else? I feel this potential bug has gone under the radar because its so unpopular.

Yeah whenever i order smoke barrage it won't shoot most of the time.

ive tryed using it a couple times to block AT guns LOS and mgs. It just doesnt deploy on the first click
