Hi, I am very new here and I was thinking of purchasing this game and want to play as the US Forces. Do I need to buy anything else besides COH2, to play as the US?

Hello and welcome buddy, if you only want to play the US faction, you'll need to buy the Western fronts armies, it's a standalone expansion to the coh2 base game.

Nope, WFA is a standalone expansion so you don't need COH2 in order to play it.

Buy COH2 and you will get the German (OStheer) and Russian forces to play. Buy Western Front Armies(the Package) you will get USF and German (OKW) to play. Buy both and you will have all 4 armies. Your choice mate.

It is actually possible to buy only USF if that is your preference. I just checked steam and the USF and/or OKW is available for $12.99 USD whereas the WFA (both USF and OKW factions) sells for $19.99 USD.

My avatar is the shoulder patch of the 17th Airborne Division which saw action from December 1944 onward taking part in the Bulge, Rheinland Campaign, and Operation Varsity. It also happens to be the unit my father served in during the war including all the above actions. Thanks for asking!
