I made a deep change and made Volksgrenadiers a core infantry with improved anti-infantry capabilities but removed Panzerschreck. I want to give them an option to upgrade to MG34 LMG, but only after Schwere Panzer HQ is built.
I made an upgrade with proper weapon and added requirement with attributes\upgrade\west_german\passive\building_3, however when I build it the upgrade doesn't unlock, even if I convert every truck. I saw a Panzerschreck upgrade uses same configuration and it works. What am I doing wrong?
Also one more thing, is it possible to make that PTRS is required to set up first before shoot? Something like Riflemen's defensive stance, or just give it 100% chance that soldier using it will go prone, like with MG42 sometimes.
At first I wanted to modify Defensive Stance, but it's complicated and consists of so many things I get lost in it :/
Enabling weapon upgrade after building a base structure

Why not just add a required_structure requirement?
You could change some stuff in the weapon itself, or continue studying Defensive Stance and adapt it for your needs.

You could try giving PTRS a long aim time and a prone position requirement at behavior_ext for a similar effect but team weapons work quite differently.

Thanks, I didn't see there was such requirement type avialable. Makes everything easier

How exactly does one do that?

They are both in the PTRS weapon file.

There's not behavior_ext category in PTRS file, however I found other options:
wants_prone_firing_option (which I knew) and non_moving_setup

Well, there is behavior, which is what I meant.
wants_prone_firing_option is what you want, set it to true.
Then go to aim and tweak aiming times as you'd like.
