<444>3 the thompson, give me two more plz :D
but yeah, there is literally 0 drawback to 30's, whereas as mentioned, the thompson can be situational, i only prefer them 'cos they make a cool sound and can wipe squads if you get a really good flank, which is fun. tactical assault is cruel if you can managed to jump some low health retreating squads. also, 3 survival instinct bulletins can be a lot of fun. :D

There is a glaring drawback to .30s compared to Thompsons: dropping them for the enemy.

The Thompson "focus fire" or whatever it's called ability will melt just about anything on two feet if you activate it in close range.

I like to use Para's Thompsons on maps like Kholodny, Semois, Stalingrad and the like. They demand micro, but when you do make it good, that's so great.

I belive Assault Guards use only 3 Ppsh, like Cons while Shocks have 6 of them.

In the end you get Shocks - amazing close combat unit and Assault grens - pure pudding without good dps at any range.

Assault Guards use 6 PPsH. They also have a better nade than Shocks.

No, they have 3 ppsh and 3 SVT. No armor or real DPS, so they aren't very good.

Thompsons are the best CQC weapons for a 6 man squad, no need to buff or de-buff

Well technically the 3 SVT's give them better DPS over range than Shocks; but this makes one wonder why regular guards don't have SVT's.

Technically 3 Guards with SVT's + 3 with PPsH = More DPS than guards at every range except when regular ones get their 2 DP's.

:S

EDIT: And no squads except shocks have armor anymore.

Paras' Thompsons are fine, getting in close and hitting Tactical Assault is one of my absolute favourite things in the game. The problem lies more in LMGs being too good (including Paras' own, of course).

there's also nothing more tragic then thinking you got the perfect flank, popping tactical assault, having something go awry and watching their broken ass retreat of doom. :\

may as well try to michael jackson moonwalk back to hq...

Both Shocks and Assault Guards use the PPsH.

Except shocks have 6 of them and armour. Apart from that they are exactly the same…

3 ppsh and 3 SVTs.

You have no slightest clue so much that its getting to a point of being hilarious(coming here from other thread where you were constantly corrected).

Also, are you shitting me?
You want to argue THREE SVTs being ANY kind of advantage over ppsh?
6 of one or the other is an advantage, mix is a hindrance as squad is bad at cqc, bad at mid range and absolutely dreadful at far while having no rec acc modifier, no armor, no smoke, no close up measure.

But I suppose you'll argue now how assault guards are the best thing below the sun, right?

You demonstrate with every post just how ignorant you are about the way this game works.

The whole point about assault guards that Australian Magic was making was that by having 3 short-range weapons and 3 SVTs they are a squad that is useless at all ranges: they have poor long-range DPS, they have poor mid-range DPS and they have poor short-range DPS.

In your post you try to insinuate that shocks and assault guards are somehow equivalent because they use the same weapon, completely ignoring the fact that shocks have armour and a specialist role: close range combat.

It is incredible to me that you continue to spout this nonsense in different forum threads repeatedly making factual errors (only an hour ago you claimed that the Command Panther coordinated ability does not increase damage taken, to say nothing of you comparing KV1 to a Tiger) and think that anyone takes you seriously.

I didn't say they were equivalent; only that they both have PPsH.

Assault Guards have better DPS close and mid range than regular guards, but not at long range thanks to DP's.

No idea why this statement is so triggering, I don't personally use Lend Lease often at all but acting like Assault Guards SVT's don't give them a mid range edge and PPsH's a close range edge is silly.

But please continue to say the opposite of what I actually said.

EDIT: And Again I'm not saying saying Ass Guards are very good at all, merely that they aren't total garbage like several people have implied.

I don't know if they have a special profile for Guards with PPSH and SVT (i'll think so), so DPS may vary and you can't just use Cons, Shocks or Penals DPS. Theres a world of difference between Shocks PPSH and cons PPSH, for example.

SVT are carbines, which has a different weapon profile to SMGs.

Conclusion: Assault Guards sucks and are not effective, on the context of it's arriving. It's like having Assault grenadiers arriving at 5CP

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

PSA: remember when using tactical assault, that your units get's received accuracy, making them melt easily.
(Don't use Tactical assault against STG Obers, it doesnt work :()

COH2 stats doesn't have the Guards PPsH, and the SVT they use is the same as the Penal SVT.

Assault Guards are listed as using only SVT's, which links to the same rifle used by the Penal Battalion.

I dont agree with this thread at all

3 rifles fighing in the center on a map like semoisky

with paras flanking around the side it deadly

i wiped 2 obers with one para squad once

I would like to see an armor buff come with the thomsons

they get forced away easily when focused

I have 3 cost reduction bullitens

thomsons cost 77 muni very deadly
