Durability is bullshit. I can't believe they're bringing it back.

Ok let's face the absolute worst case:

Relic adds a upkeep system for commander abilities or bulletins. You need to repair them once in a while in order to make them usable again.

So we know Relic. It would be: 'Sorry you have to play 20 games to repair all your stuff... or pay us 2.99$ :snfPeter:'

The sad thing is:
I can't tell if your post is meant in a ironic, angry, resigned or realistic way.

I guess it's more realistic as I want to admit.
The 20 games and the 2.99$ are exaggerated, sure. But I am really afraid that Relic will add such a system because they already did it in CoH:O and it was not really good. In my opinion it was a catastrophe.

Repairing function would only apply to custom commanders, since you can't change the dlc commanders which people paid money for!

There would be a lot of people sending refund requests to steam. In some countries they would have to do it.

I'd be willing to take up that bet. They likely aren't going to mess with commanders already sold. Unless they allow you to craft them into abilities or something as that one poster speculated.

The twist is I want them to change the existing commander system so badly so we can finally see some new ones. Choice between Shock Armoured Frontline or Counterattack gets stale after a while. So even if I lose the bet I will be happy.

We've been over this. They will limit the abilities on custom commanders in certain ways. We already know there will be epic and rare (and by extension, uncommon and common) commander abilities.

I would prefer even more fine tuning of a system. If Relic was clever they could create a system that would provide incredible creativity and emergent complexity with a few simple rules.

For example they should incentivise using some currently less used abilities by giving them synergy bonuses. E.g. if you pick Soviet Tank Traps your 5th ability comes 1CP sooner. Conversely, if you pick Tiger Ace, all other abilities come 1 or 2 CPs later. If you pick Tiger you cannot pick another vehicle call-in. If you pick Irregulars, all your ammo-based commander abilities cost -20% to cast. Or, if you pick Guards, any ability labeled "Mechanized" (for example T34 85 call-in) costs 15% less etc. Or, you cannot have "Defensive" and "Offensive" abilities at the same time in the same commander. But if you have at least three "Infantry" tagged abilities you get some joint bonus. Or, if you have Tiger, Ace, ISU or IS2 in loadout, these abilities cost much more supply to "repair" than a medium callin. Etc.

Guard infantry

Guards so stronk now that soviet players realized they would imbalance the game too much and have all agreed to not use them at all :snfBarton:
