Hi all,
im new to CoH2 (I only have the Base Game and Western Armies) and asked myself:

1. Which of the DLC Content is a must have? or
1b. Which of the DLC Content is worth the prize?

2. Do i have to buy all DLC Commanders or do i get some of them for free trough Leveling (i am LVL 31 and have 7 Soviet Commanders right now)?

2b. Which Commanders do i get for free trough leveling?

1. None.
1b. Western Front Armies. Although try get them from Green Man Gaming or site like this cause it's cheaper (OKW for 3$).
Ardenne Assault is waste of money unless you are single player lover.

2&2b. All commanders can be obtained through War Spoils. This system is not attached to your level. It's just about luck.

You don't need to spend any money for commanders to win but if you want to have less problems you can get commanders with tiger call ins like mechanized assault doctrine for ostheer

First get the hang of the game, then decide. Some commanders have some advantages, but first play for like 50-60 hours, pray to RNG Jesus to obtain some of those commanders, then decide what to do.

Do not expect to get any commanders. They are very very very rare. You can play for a hundred hours and not get a single commander or a useless commander. It is better to play for a while and then buy a commander or two next time they are for sale on Steam.

Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals.
