OKW Jagdpanzer 4 aimtime

I noticed, that almost every first shot fired from the Jagdpanzer misses, if it fires from a turning movement. This might be, because it is indeed still moving (turning) wile firing that first shell. Other tankhunters, like the Stug 3, seem to wait until the turning is fully finished before shooting.

This might be, because the aimtime of those other vehicles is above 0, meaning that they have enough time for finishing their movement and then making the first shot standing still.

Maybe Iam wrong, because I could not find any aimtime data of the Coh2 vehicles after 30 seconds of searching (lazy me).

The Jagdpanzer 4 would benefit form an lightly increased aimtime, to maximize it's potential when re positioning.

unless it's supposed to miss on the first shot it should probably be changed as he suggested...

It has the same aim stats as StuG or SU-85, so I'd guess it's not the aim time.

how is turn speed calculated? i don't see a number on your site. it could be that it turns enough slower it's still moving when the aim time finishes or that it has a larger traverse.

or it could be something completely different, including the issue being RNG.

I will try to reenact the situation with a Jp4 and a Su85. I thought this misbehavior of the Jp4 has also been noticed by someone else... But in the end most people seem to ignore this unit. I for my part try to figure out, why it feels so wrong compared to the other tankhunters.

Edit: Here you go Replay
After having these provoked results, it looks like the Jp4 just sucks at long ranges. With and without veterancy.

Jp4 is one of the most annoying things to circle strafe sometimes...its like the gun isnt aligned with the shot half the time.

which is very odd because its accuracy is higher (nearly x2 at far) than either the stug or the su-85.

Many tanks and AT miss with first shot. Some RNG God rage.

I agree. JgPzIV is NOT FINE. One of the reasons people blob might be this unit. There are two major issues: Accuracy at max range and penetration. Although it scales very well and at higher vets becomes a killing machine, at 0-1 vet it underperforms specially against Soviets.

I think it needs a slight penetration buff to deal with Soviet heavies.

PS: Don't even think about talking and whining about Jackson and SU85. They have their own issues they need changes too. This thread is about JgPzIV.

I do think it should share the same Pen as a Panther(therefore a pen buff), right now it's too pricey and most people just wait to get a panther.

I will tell you why in your replay SU-85 seems to have better accuracy than the Jagdpanzer.

It's because of scatter hits - SU-85 has significantly smaller scatter angle (5 vs 7.5), so a lot of shots which "missed" for the SU-85 hit anyway because of it.

Observe any single game with SU-85 and imagine its much more durable and is fighting weaker armor.

You use it like that.

Finally a good answer. That also explains why it doesn't get any "better" with more veterancy. It "only" gets more accuracy buffs.

Jagdpanzer IV/70 (V)

1. Unlocks the 'Cautious Movement' ability

2. +10% armour, +25% HP, +35% sight range

3. +20% rotation speed, +20% speed, -10% reload

4. -25% reload, +30% accuracy

5. For first shot fired out of camouflage +50% damage & +50% accuracy & +50% penetration
