I like this sound. Please keep iti in game. It contributes to the game being a massive joke and can provide some really funny moments when it happens to streamers.

Citizens, be prepared! You don't know when it will strike again! :D

This might be the worst of it all. You dont know when it will hit you. If you keep thinking it might happen anytime, you go mad a little.

#scaring the shit out of gamers since beta

There's another thread somewhere (from about a year ago) in which P.Q. is asking for more information about this bug.

I always considered the boom as a badly recorded sound of a gunshot. I am also pretty sure that at least one person died from fright from this noise.

It sounds like somebody whacking a really heavy gage, tightly strung wire with a sledgehammer, in an empty factory for really nice reverb. And somehow it is played at volume level 11, even though your computer's max is 10.

This bug cost me a pair of speakers. I thank my lucky stars I didn't have my music set-up switched on when it happened. I take special care now to ensure they're safe from CoH2 before playing. One set of vintage speakers is enough to lose, I'm not going to risk another.

I'm getting this bug pretty much on a daily basis. Relic knows about it, it's been around since beta and has been reported plenty of times, but since they just keep asking for more info in the relevant threads and never really provide any further feedback, my guess is that they are not able to track it down and fix it. Given the potential hazards of the bug you'd think they'd put some effort into it. I have a friend who played the game on really loud volume with his new headphones when it first occured for him, and he claimed his ears were ringing for a day afterwards.

Daily basis?

On a somewhat related note, what is your current strategy when playing?

I mean, I wonder if there's a specific unit or ability that is the root of the cause. It might help track down the bug.

It seems since then the sound file has changed since to me it doesn't sound the same as it used to. :D

Other than that it's still the same bug that's been plaging the game since the beta.

I've had it happen to me once, or maybe twice. It probably has to do with your sound drivers, i mean, i see no other explanation why it happens on a daily basis for some people, and almost never for others. This being said, i have not launched CoH2 since a good two months now.

PS: i remember it being a very loud gunshot with lengthy reverberation afterwards. Very realistic, if i weren't using headsets when playing, i could have wondered if it wasn't in the flat next door.

This happens too often for me, first I thought it's because I use a USB headset, but it seems that everyone it experiencing this. I have already lost a few decibels of my left ear on other stuff, don't wanna lose more playing this game.
