Fighting Elite Troops

Hey guys, does anyone have any tips for fighting against this doctrine? I find it exceptionally hard to win if they immediately level one squad to vet 3, put and LMG on it, and push me off. I can't take the casualties that vet 0/1 cons suffer against vet 3 grenadiers.
It's like being in the late game after having done terribly early, but it is the early game!
Is this commander complete BS, or am I playing against it wrong?

Don't spread your troops capping alone except maybe one conscript squad.

120mm mortar is very good here - if you wipe the vet3, the OST just might ragequit.

I don't have Elite Troops, so I'm wondering: What is the cost for vetting troops to the Ostheer?

his tech will be delayed if he uses the troop training. Aim to outright kill the troops. Use mortars and flamers for good effect. Mortars can do serious damage. If they lose those vetted squads, the Ostheer player is screwed, especially if they use the troop training way in the beginning

Thanks. I'll try out the mortar then. Any recommendation on the amount of conscripts/other to be using to fight against them? The die insanely fast, even to just hold the grens in position.

Or just spam maxims. The training will delay rifle grenades.

On a closed map (urban etc), straight up cons (4/5) and molotovs+a flamer engineer should do the job if microed correctly in the early game. Transition to t2 and a quick t3 if it is going really well, if not, go t2, maxim and a Zis, plant lots of mines and if your holding out for call in tanks, consider t1 for a sniper. If your floating at any point, a shock trooper squad is rarely a bad option.

On an open map, well veto them, or consider a boring old t1 sniper build, something like sniper, 3 cons, sniper, healing and AT nades+Guards. Lots of mines into t2 and a Zis, hold out for call in tanks.

The Troop Training cost has nothing to do with that of rifle grenades.

If they vet up infantry it costs 25 fuel so it really delays their tech so I think the best thing is to rush a T-70 because it will take them longer to counter with P4, also the T-70 is incredibly strong at wiping squads so you can easily wipe down Vet 3 Grens on retreat especially if it's a support weapon or sniper that they vet. As for USF you could do the same with M20 or Stuart.

Dealing with the Tiger Ace has always been really hard, you have to be quite far ahead to deal with it or you can just out right lose the moment it shows up. Don't bother with SU-85's against it, the Sight, range, Blitzkrieg and Target Weak point of the Tiger Ace make SU-85's pathetically bad against it.

It costs fuel, and you need fuel to get rifle grenades from battle phase 1

The same is true for LMGs.

Building on what Brian and The Machine wrote (go go fast T-70 for the wiperonis), you can also try following up with a KV-8 baserush :snfCHVGame: A lot of players who go Elite Troops like to just spam grenadiers and sit in T1-T2. Roll the KV-8 in, drop incendiary artillery on any paks and torch the base (starting with T2). You can end the game before the Ostheer player even has enough CPs for the Tiger Ace.

Light armor rush. If they vet up, they are gonna delay teching up so exploit that. Soviet T70 rush and USF AAHT.
