Anyways, I think it's just some bug with Relic it happens with MGs too, when a unit gets suppressed they just stay suppressed even when there is nothing firing at them.

I remember in CoH1 when mgs used to suppress faster too.
They sure did, but we are talking about recovery here. Even when you destroy the MG/AAHT/FlakHT it takes too long for the squad to recover.

1st the Cover, better cover means faster recovery.
2nd are they still under fire from other units(not suppression dealing ones), units under fire recover slower from suppression.

recovery rate is 10-15 seconds. i'm not sure on the exact number but it's like that for every unit.
That+if any other unit is shooting at suppressed unit, the suppression will not end.

Is there a way in early game for the USF to deal with HMG other than flanking and what are they supposed to do when this is not possible? Does this answer ur question?

I would like to see a change to MGs: make them deal supression quicker (maybe except for the Kübel and the Maxim) to make frontal assaults on MGs less likely to suceed- but also make units recover faster.
On a related note, is it just me or is the USF Smoke Nade too good against Ostheer?
USF should be using their flamethrowers, mortars, or snipers
