Hello internet strangers,

I'm trying to make this unit work and all the information out there is either out of date or unclear. What units does the FO bonus apply to? In some threads it applies to the mortar HT? Sometime ago there was mention about arty range being increased as the unit gains vet? True/False?

Artillery field officers ability that shoots all arty to 1 spot, doubles the range of all arty units when you activate it, so they can participate easier

Veterancy 2
+40% Range on Smoke Barrage
+40% Range on Coordinated Barrage
+30% Armor ( this has been changed to 0.75 received accuracy, i think)

Veterancy 3
+40% Accuracy
+10% DPS to coordinated fire

Concentrated fire:

Cost: 15 munition
Radius: 20
Durarion: 20 sec
Accuracy: *1.15
Reload: *0.85
Cooldown: *0.85

(these values stolen from older post by ace4sure) :P

Small update - The accuracy bonus from The Artillery Field Officer applies to A) all allied infantry B) all allied armor. 15% on some panthers is a magical thing.

This unit kicks ass.

Does the coordinated barrage increase the range of artillery pieces like the LeFH and Mortar?

The officer might be a counter to the LMG/BAR blobs?

I've been able to counter most any allied infantry except for BAR blobs. Still working that one out. 6 Truppin with the Artillery field officer is my base. Thinking of reducing it to 5 Truppin and 2 PG's with the officer. Will be trying this shortly.

Ninja, only one commander has the officer and an arty piece :(

Why not go for 4-5 Grens? ...At those numbers they wreck US forces. I dont use the Arty Officer much...but Im thinking it could work well.

what i meant was if you built 5 mortars and sat them at your base, could u use the coordinated barrage ability to make the mortars attack the other opponent's base?

It doesn't ignore range all together, but it does increase it. How much I am unsure right now.

Hmm, mortars seem like a good possibility, especially in combination with the officer.
Also, I was wondering if G43s might be any good?

Didn't you know? The best thinking is done on the toilet!

Nice explanation nigo of the Arty Officer, going to have to try some Ost + Off builds now.

Would you suggest this for 2v2 and up or maybe a 1v1 version could work?

Doesn't the festung support have relief inf, arty officer and mortar HT all together? That could be great for utilizing the arty officer plus you get to bring in relief troops by popping the ability at beginning of big skirmish.

Festung Support has the Mortar HT, Smoke Bombs, Relief Infantry, LeFH 18 and Sector Artillery. No Officer, unfortunately.
I, too, have been wondering about the use of the Artillery Officer to help myself in the Infantry War, especially since there's a Tiger Doctrine with it, but I'm not sure yet.

Hell, I'm even considering Ambush Camo.
