NOTE THIS IS NOT MECHANISED ASSAULT COMMANDER

Commander abilities 3cps mechanised grenadier group , 4cps smoke pots ,5cps spotting scopes, 8cps command tank , 8cps howitzer

This commander comes by another name as well , which is , the mechanised assaults stupid brother in law . I say tthat because when compared with spearhead he doesnt have neither the offesnive boost the mortar halftrack has nor the late game power the tiger provides , the same thing goes for the mechanised assault commander in even more exagerating terms and if you compare him with other commanders that have command tanks he is worse in all aspects when compared with blitzkrieg and he doesent let you skip a tier ( which most decent german commanders do ) like mobile defence does or at least improve your halfway antitank options . Instead he is a mix of all those that does things worse .

In the beginning relic had planned to release him with a mortar halftrack instead of the mechanised assault group ( why on earth would anyone want grens on a halftrack instead of pgrens ?? Teasing for the payed commander ?? :snfCHVGame: ) Which would have made for quite an interesting mix , but then they changed their minds and gave him the grenadier car breaking the whole thing down , interestingly enough they never changed the initial description which still speaks of mobile mortars :snfBarton: . Which leads me to ask was this a mistake ? did they confuse the units they gave the commander or they just forgot to change the description ?

Well, these grens come with LMG.

I like the doctrine, it got a nice feel to it.
MHT was removed likely because it would overlap with already existing doctrine(s) offering both these units and relic probably wanted to give out 250 without the need to buy the doctrine with it.

I highly doubt the overlapping thing has been a concern of relic based on the commanders we have so far , so i will stick to my explanation . Otherwise i like the "feel" of the commander as well and i d like him to be more efficient

The German Mechanized commander is nice. Sure, it is not as powerful as Mechanized Assault, but that is probably thé strongest Wehrmacht doctrine in the game because it allows you to not build tech past T2 and somehow still have a strong early mid and late game. Comparing it is not fair, you have to compare it with other sub-optimal commanders.

When you do that the doctrine suddenly is not bad at all.
German Mechanized offers a howitzer and spotting scopes. It is a very nice combination is you build a 222, get it some vet and stick spotting scopes on it. It can spot potential targets for your howitzer without the need for recon aircraft.
Smoke screen drop is a lot nicer now that you can finally change the direction of the plane.
Early game you can skip 1 gren squad before teching to a 222 and because you get another gren squad with the call-in a bit later. You can always swap them for flamer pioneers or panzergrenadiers.

It's not a doctrine that you go for if you absolutely must win at all cost, but it is a fun doctrine that offers a fresh playstyle.

I like the doctrine, smoke bombs, spotting scopes and command tank are some of my favourite abilities in the whole game.

Its a fluffy, nice commander that you can afford to choose if you are up against a beginner.
Against a decent opponent it is a liability - like so many Ostheer (and Soviet)commanders. It literally offers nothing that is strong on its own and also has no meaningful synergies.

LMG Grens in HT are great at shooting up infantry and capping side points, just a shame about the fuel cost. If we weren't playing a game that was so big on heavy tank call ins this would be a great commander, command tank and a couple of panthers with scopes are a great combo then throw some arty and directional smoke drops in and you have a great supporting all rounder.

If the price remains the same, why can't this clowncar arrive at 2CP ?
