as it is in beta it is usless. the best unit of soviet army is gone forever

I beg to differ, it's not useless at all. True, getting more than one is kind of useless due to the required micro to use the unit, but 1 ISU is still a very good unit. You just need to be able to micro it.

And it is good as it is! And the Jagdtiger is hit even more by the nerf.

I agree that something had to be done about ISU/JT, but I'm not sure this is a good approach. Was the problem the ease of use, or the sheer power they possess? I think the latter, but its just my opinion.

Whoever thinks ISU and Jagd are overnerfed was greatly taking advantage of these abuse machines before. L2 micro.

I do think JT was hit harder than ISU with the change. The abuse-potential is still there, and many people had used them with hold fire (before that was changed) anyway, so the squad wipes will still be there. ISUs will probably be less popular but I don't think they will be much less frustrating than before.

It's not useless at all, it just requires more micro and some sense of knowledge for movement speed. It's still easy to deal high damage to infantry, but it might be harder to oneshot an entire squad. It doesn't shoot on useless targets anymore but on the targets you actually want it to shoot, this might be a buff for it. Sure, it's nearly impossible for any mediocre player to hit a moving tank but now it has a defined role which is a good thing.

I must agree on this one. ISU is efficient both against infantry and vehicles. You have to micro it now, but you can target any unit on the map and do important damage no matter if it's vehicle , infantry, team crew, etc. On the other hand, you must micro your JagdTiger too, but hey, it can be efficiently used only against vehicles. So, again, ISU advantage. Currently, as soviet, I could consider building an ISU (hard micro but high reward), but as OKW, to pay such a huge amount of my 66% fuel income to build something that will be efficient only against vehicles and only if they stand still.... thank you, I'll build a KT / jagdpanzer / panther instead. Or go Ostheer and build an Elefant.

Just to say that Relic is focusing on balancing 1v1 and 2v2. 4v4/3v3 are not a priority.

ISU-152 is not useless. That word is thrown around way too liberally in this community. I won a game in beta yesterday playing random 2's, which i mainly credit to ISU-152. It was Minsk Pocket against 2 okw. We were able to completely surround them, but could not move in on the fuel point they camped all their trucks and infantry on. ISU and JT showed up almost at the whole time, even with what should have been a massive fuel advantage for allies. JT blew my Sherman up by shooting through the damned forest that shapes the map(shot/vision blocker). I never saw it, just my half health sherman suddenly blew up. The guy controlling the assault gun was very smart though. He never overextended and asked me to ensure his retreat path wasn't blocked by my vehicles. He retreated at the right time for repairs. He had good support along his line and took his time taking chunks out of the okw defenses. This guy was one of the few that I have seen use the ISU cautiously like this. Most of the time(even from high ranks) I see people use it like a tiger or panther would be used, which results in swift destruction.

I can't comment on his experience using it, but worthless is the wrong word.

Yea, he is right. ISU still can go against every unit on field. And it's cheaper. In this case i would trade ISU for JT any day.

remove crew shocks from jagdtiger, and then remove the idiotic shoot-through-geometry "mechanic"

I thought the ISU had a little too much range, but the current change is just annoying

ISU is still useful imo(just not an automatic weapon), now if only we can work on the Jadgtiger and Elefant :snfPeter:

Relic made a poll on it in the official forums. Wonder how much they will listen to the community?

I hope not too much. 80 % of the threads are just whine threads created by fanboys.

Yes it is quite painful to read some posts there. But what would Relic do if 100 percent of the people voted for the changes/not for the changes? would they change their mind?
