USF, Vehicle Crew

What are your thoughts on adding the vehicle crew to t0 ?

With the stale early game of usf non doc infantry:gimpy:(what some people would call spam) A lot of talk about units changing tires have already come and gone, But the questions still remains.:unsure:...

I know this is probably never going to happen in advance :thumb:, But I was wondering on what everyone's thoughts would be of adding the usf vehicle crews to main base (tire 0)^_^. This would allow usf with more options in the early game as well as some build diversity. (close ranged mini flanking unit/tank re-crewer)

Am I totaly off?. Thoughts?.

Worthless decision. They're sub par infantry, RE already exist for cheap capping, and any infantry squad can re-crew and transfer their EXP to an american tinderbox.

I would actually like this. When I capture enemy vehicles, I only have the option of using REs to recrew but they don't auto-repair when decrewing or have the critical repair ability. Would be nice if I could just build another vehicle crew.

Why not, mabye people will try using armor company and the thompson upgrade if they actually have units to upgrade

Vet bonuses for VC are trash from a combat point of view, they're not worth the muni you need to sink on them.

If they decreased the cost of Thompsons it might be viable, for said commander

i'd like to test vehicle crews, .50 cals, and pack howitzers all in the T0 building actually... might give the USF a little more variety early on.

There doesn't seem to be a single situation where vehicle crews have an advantage. Every combat situation that I have used them in, they have performed terrible. As a result, I had no desire to upgrade them with thompsons. I want thompsons on my riflemen, not my worthless orphaned vehicle crews. They aren't even cheap to reinforce, they cost more than riflemen.

They repair quite well though, so I would like to build replacements for abandoned vehicles though.

I'd say muni upgrade to Vechile Crew for RE wouldn't hurt

The only reason I'd ever want to buy a vehicle crew is because rear echelons crewing tanks will not autorepair upon leaving it. Which is annoying with the already higher than other faction micro required for USF.

Imagine a circle jerk fest where AA halftracks run around the map and return to base for the "pit crew" of several vehicle squads repair them at a very fast pace.

That said, it might be much of a problem if they are found in later tiers. Tier zero? No way.

Which, it is argued contrary to actual gameplay results, it somehow makes them less useless.

Rear echelons repair faster than vehicle squads.
