This forum is better than the official forum in a few different ways, but I am surprised there is no like button for posts.

Why would we want a like button? People will just ignore the unliked and unpopular opinions and skip half the thread before posting, will just diminish quality (hah) more.

That doesn't seem to be a problem at all in the official forum, liked comments wouldn't be pushed to the top or anything. I guess its just instinctual for me to want to show I agree with a post.

+1 :)

Is anyone else seeing the irony in this?

A like button removes the need for posts like this that express approval but don't say anything else and just take up space.

I'd rather have proper ignore button.

+1 for the like.
there are numerous likes I do not express, simply in order to not spam the forum.

being liked is nice after all.

Yeah you can already post a +1 on someone's thread, that's close enough to a like. Besides, this isn't Facebook :P

While everyone else is going +1 or no need I feel like I should a decent explanation why.

Ultimately ideas should be evaluated for what they are rather than their popularity. Popularity contests have their place, but a lot of the things talked about here are better dealt with objectively than subjectively.

I think most of us know that "liking" a post is open to abuse. Whilst posters avidly pursue Axis/Allied 'fanboi' clubs, I am not in favour of this additional sparring tool

This is not a beauty parade- not with you uglies, anyway. ;)
