Anyone seen this? I haven't played the first game but the beautiful shot of a king-tiger caught my eye in the store and watching the trailer amazed me. Can anyone recommend this game? Is it good and is it on par with COH 2?

Nice game. It is different from CoH. It's quiete realistic so you can't just run over the whole map but it is still fun. Imo, the tank battles in MoW are way better than in CoH and you actually have to micro them (realism = 1 shot can kill you tank). Just watch some videos on Youtube and decide for youself.

It looks like a fun game but it has no skirmish mode so that pretty much made me not want to buy it. I was really hoping they'd implement it in the sequel. I have the first game but basically just quit immediately because of that.

Did you read them as they all said its the same as the last one thats inst really trashing it and coh2 was an incremental improvement too

I like the game i still prefer COH buts its good it has a long learning curve for tanks and grenades but i its fun especially with friends of similar skill

No, If you read the "most helpful" reviews, they all state these things:

1: Skins from the previous game are almost all the same. A few new models won't cut it. They had so much time to remodel everything, but seems the team just want's $$$.

2: Major lag issues in MP. Here lies the biggest problem with the game im afraid, if you can't play a smooth game, then don't waste your nerves.

3: The game hasn't been improved, some even say its a step back from the original AS. Something like vcoh players said about coh2.

I have Assault squads 1 that i can play, so if i read so many bad reviews from the veteran AS players, why should i waste my time with a broken product.

I'm lucky I got the game for free. I'm struggling to see the added value over Men of War1. if you're not a superfan of the series and wish to help the devs, don't buy it.

I've been playing the series since Faces of War in 2006.

AS2 is not worth it unless you're a hardcore player, in which case it might be. There are really good improvements but it's SUBTLE

I bought vCoH on January 3rd, 2007.
Still missing the days of vCoH 1.71. It had it's issues, like paks sniping 57s, and the strafe didn't work, but overall, it was probably the most balanced time in CoH history.

OF ruined that. CoH 2 is....balanced in a nasty way. Everyone has an equal stockpile of gamebreaking bullshit. USA is full of early game BS while the OKW doesn't get its BS until late game. It's just a question of how badly you exploit the faction's shit and how quickly, after a patch, you discover the gaping holes of bullshit Relic leaves. But either way, it's all BS. The only "BS" in vCoH that was gamechanging was the fast m8 vs a bunker.

It is the best itteration of the series, but honestly its an expansion not a full fledged sequel. The missions are from the first Assault squad. The new units and improved gameplay are good though. I love the series.

tbh, men of war for me is in a rather weird spot.

It's that odd place where it is neither a WW2 simulator, but nor it is an arcade game like coh.

Which makes it for me, a very odd game to play, if i want arcade, i go play coh, if i want simulator ww2, i just go play graviteam tactics or something..
