You have to remember as well time spent microing the truck is time not spent microing units else where.


There are like 4 units on the field when you do the truck push. 3 of which are on the same screen. The other one can be shift-queued to cap multiple locations in the map.

It exists since vCOH, you can do that even with 222.

I lost the video clip of the very first day of WFA release, showing OKW truck crushing the building in one collision and killing whole Rifle squad inside.

It was so hilarious :lol:

It is a tough call. On one side it gives the OKW a free scout unit. On the other side they kinda do run the risk of loosing it. Seems balanced in a sense.

I agree with Abdul here. When ever do you see a truck getting destroyed in a highskilled game?

Its a rather gimmicky feature which was surely not intended to play such a big part in the early game.

And historically I do not believe the germans used their supply trucks as a frontline shock unit...

the way i see it, is if the trucks arent meant to be used then why arent they just buildings?

Not using the coh1 british truck system just for the sake of changing it doesnt make sense to me. Besides preventing "pushing" theyd also prevent the annoyance of having to look at the truck. I misclick it all the time when i want to quickly select my fighting tanks.

Neither a Jeep nor a Kettenkrad could dismantle buildings, from memory. (Actually , I have no problem with either the tactics you allude to, nor the"bulldozer" from OKW,but I was interested to read what other posters judged were fair tactics (or not)

The risk is being highly overestimated. What logical player is going focus fire on the truck when they got a kubel and sturms to deal with?Sturms also repair the truck SUPER FAST.If u lose the truck early. just spam volks and pios. Also ITS A FREE UNIT! that can destroy buildings and push squads. Again, couple this with a kuble and sturms. Its Borderline game breaking. Im not touching 1v1's until this exploit (yes, thats what it is) is fixed.

That has worked a couple of times. ive acually had better luck with maxims killing trucks. When i lose a truck as OKW its doesn't matter. I just spam volks and make another squad of sturms

The exageration is strong in this one.
Serously, guys, all this exageration on the forums is PATHETIC. You look like a bunch of 8 years old kids, complaining and blaming about the most stupid things (like this one,people complaining about a bunch of Axis players doing the idiot with a defenseless truck. You can only do some damage with it if is extremly microed, and its too valuable for "scouting").

Grown up, this forum looks like LoL chat, but using a "more refinated" vocabulary.

Losing my first truck, i dont care about. any truck after that, becomes a big problem.

I'm still thankful that they don't have heavy crush anymore. I think maybe a very slight armor reduction to make them worse early game, but only very slight. Otherwise M3s would be guaranteed kills against any truck that left the base early game, and I don't want OBW to be forced into doing that.

The way I see it, if you want to be able to use your trucks in this manner then go for it.

However right now the risks involved are minimal, focus firing the truck when there is a squad of sturm pios bearing down on you is a terrible opening strategy and a sure fire way to lose the first engagement. As of now, there is no reasonable way to counter this so early in the game.

Either reduce the truck's armor (or HP), delay the truck for a minute, or make truck damage carry over into building damage.

If you messed up your truck trying to push infantry, then you should have done it better or not tried it at all.

Either way OKW should take on some form of increased risk for using this exploit.

I like the idea of truck health being related to building health, in that a damaged truck will produce a damaged building. It both makes sense and will help to indirectly discourage truck pushing.

It will not directly effect the first couple engagements but it does add an additional cost to truck pushing. Which i think is the primary gripe with the mechaninc.

Units are balanced to fight each other in an equal field of play, so adding the troll truck will affect performance, therefore there should be a little more cost associated with using it. But not so much that buildings for the OKW become a challange to get up

Loosing game maybe not, but definitely lost otherwise 100% won engagements as well as made opponents loose theirs without losses of my own.

The truck is essentially a free unit that got as much impact in early game as kubel, which is quite significant for the first 1-3 engagements.
