Such series are made for the american audience. You can imagine how biased such a series would be.
Your movie Stalingrad for example was made by a european with european actors, for the european market.

Muhaha this is some good shit ^^

300 SS Bad-Boys against 5 'muricans with Brad Pitt in a E8 who'll win? :D

Why not skip all the crap and have Brad Pitt alone kill 500 SS with his bare hands?

I'm pretty sure there will be also that one guy who thinks this movie is realistic and the plot is based on a true story and then he goes on the internet and starts with a discussion and claims that Shermans could knock Tigers out with one shot.

But well, if you want to see a good series just watch "Generation War". The best one I've seen so far.

I didn´t like generation war for multible reasons.
If you want to watch a really good series, then watch "Das Boot"

There have been many times where a small group of men fought a larger group. Plenty of historical cases, here's an extreme example in WWII.

Stalingrad and Cross of Iron may just be up there as the best WWII movies of all time. (Honorable mention to Das Boot, The Thin Red Line, and Saving Private Ryan).

Why waste so much breath complaining about the movie, just take it for what it is. It looks entertaining enough and movies from the perspective of tank crews aren't really that usual, especially not with this budget.

I think we'll see some good action in it.

Only thing that really bothers me is the very modern haircut Brad Pitt is sporting, looks a bit out of place.

The point of the thread is, that people are fed up with unrealistic, racist and superhero WW2 movies from america.

The OP:

"Check it shrugging off a hit from a Tiger at point blank range o_O

God damn Hollywood! Tiger makes a fool of a Sherman

Also, this movie looks like trash compared to the likes of Saving Private Ryan"

Saving Private Ryan was a Hollywood movie, nothing in the OP mentioned that this is supposed to be a anti Hollywood blockbuster ragefest

I can see people being frustrated but I don't get why you yell at the TV.

I think they're just happy to be sporting the last working Tiger 1. Think of it as a P4 if you are too aware of the unrealism.

ITT stupid people

It's a Jumbo76, not an Easy 8.

It is an M4A3E8. M4A3E2's had a different looking tuuret, a different looking mantlet, didn't have the HVSS suspension, and also had a fatter appearance.

Googling has confirmed this. I'm the stupid one

It looks like the tiger took a shot at a very sharp angle though. An E8 angled so sharply (why the tiger would shoot at the angled part I don't know) could deflect a tiger shot

I saw some days ago this documentary which talks about Tank Crewmen who survived the african and european campaign.

Brad pitt role in the film seems to be this one, a Tank Commander who started fighting in Africa.

The M4A3E8 even had the upper glacis upgraded with the jumbo's extra armor (178 mm) so it's possible.

Most realistic and non-exaggerated WWII film I've ever had the pleasure of viewing would have had to have been Saving Private Ryan. The original squad took several casualties and by the end of it even the main protagonist in Tom Hanks as the Captain died.

Hell you even view one of the Americans gun down a surrendered prisoner of war in that film, which by American standards is pretty damn dark. (Watch the end, you'll see the pussy of an American soldier who couldn't be bothered to bring MG ammo to his squad blast the German who knifed his buddies in the face with an M1-Garand.)

The knife scene is rather intense, certainly not 'pro-americana'
