I wanted to paste here a picture adequate to overreaction and lack of understanding of the unit, its costs and accuracy, but I have failed to find one.
If B4 actually hit your tank, maybe you shouldn't keep in in place for a minute it takes it to turn and fire for 180 muni.
Or I will say it this way:
Play with the doctrine and see for yourself how awesome B-4 really is.
You'll be back here with "buff B-4" thread after shooting few times with it.

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

It takes two precision shots even with mark target. You also need somebody to spot for it or use the recon plane. The B4 is balanced.

I love that Howitzer. It's a nice mixture of luck and skill. You need to keep the point of impact visible, else you have close to no chance to hit at all and then you need to pray.
That Howitzer is the most Soviet thing I ever saw. Big gun, big boom. I really love it. I'm usually not a huge fan of such RNG units that can decide whole battles, but for some reason I just can't get enough of those 203mm of BOOM.
Regarding the actual discussion:
All of hits shots oneshot a tank, the direct fire is actually the least reliable in my opinion (expensive, low arc and takes ages to fire, so the tank might move slightly).
B4 is somewhat a Sturmtiger with better range, but far less accuracy / armor and of course no mobility.

I think Soviets need a big gun like this (eg to help with overly-aggressive OKW trucks) but "Precision strike" makes it into a kind of *debug* button. It just deletes squads almost without fail every minute or so.
I think a small nerf/change is needed. Maybe just remove prescision strike and give it a three-shell ability with scatter instead.
Or add red smoke to prescision strike.

The other day a Jadgtiger rolled towards the front line, and then decided to stop. We quicky recon'd it, used mark target, and had 2 B4s precision strike it. It blew up in spectacular fashion.
But think about it, 1200mp in arty pieces, 180 munitions for 2 precision strikes, recon plane, and mark target. He also kept it stationary for the whole ordeal.
The best part about this doctrine is using the "For Mother Russia" to buff the B4s. Want to really cheese? put it near an FHQ, use "For Muther Russia" and watch the fireworks.
But for real, stuka dive bomb, walking stuka, counter arty, fragmentation bomb, the list goes on. Its easy to take out.

Just being Captain Obvious; I think the OP is just upset about the one-shotting units in-game.
OP; deal with it, it costs 600 mp and a tons of muni to kill that JGpanzer. You had the chance to avoid it and after so much resource investment, it'd better 1-shot it.
