Orders called for an assault on a Soviet held village. Quartered within were the lead elements of the 1st Guards Tank Corps. The task fell to the 3rd SS Panzer Division. Preparing men and equipment they set out to show the Soviets what for.

"Herr Hauptmann. Orders from Divisional headquarters. You are to assemble a kampfgruppe and seize the village up ahead cutting off the allied supply lines"
Major Jones was enjoying his breakfeast when the artillery began shelling the town. But the 29th Infantry Division was prepared and he'd managed to have a few surprises hidden away in reserve.

The Orders were clear. The 5th Guards Tank Corps had to break through the lines of the 10th Panzergrenadier Division by evening or the consequences would be dire. There would be no additional reinforcements for this battle, no air support. And there was no telling what the 10th would have in reserve waiting for them.

16th Panzergrenadier Division had been bogged down in defensive operations for days keeping the Guards Armoured division at bay. Replacements were finally on the way. But the Guards Armoured Division was preparing for another attack. Deciding to spoil it for them, the 16th went on the offensive.

And for today a spectacular and violent 2v2 between the armies of the Soviet union and germany on Rhine Crossing. Heavy armour play, loads of SU85s and other heavy soviet equipment.

The Kampfgruppe Walter was all that was left of the 2nd Panzer DIvision, the rest had been sent back to germany for replacements and refitting. But the Kampfgruppe Walther had to stay and remain until a Volksgrenadier Division could take over the position. Battered and bruised they held the line, hoping for quiet. But alas it was not to be as the 5th Armoured Division prepared for an attack.

The Germans had been raining down artillery down on them for hours. Captain Webber was not keen on what was going to come as soon as it ended. Behind the trees in the distance waited the men of the 2nd SS Panzer Division, more than eager to push through and beat his men to a pulp. He had made requests for armoured support. But he was less than sure if they had actually been heard.

They were getting closer to Warsaw. He could feel it. But as Captain Pavlov was leading his company down the road suddenly the air became alive with bullets. The fascists were upon them !

And with all the recent talk of Panzer IIIs. I decided to make a video with my thoughts on it.

"Captain you're holding the map upside down" "Shut up Earl" Orders had come in to assemble for an attack against the Panzer Lehr Division to halt their advance and protect the flank of the 1st Armoured Division. But all Captain Jones had to work with was a Light Tank Company and a bunch of Scraggly GIs. Perhaps he could call in a few favours...

"1st Company is currently encountering resistance at what was thought to be an abandoned farmstead, 2nd company has run out of fuel for the trucks. So we only have 3rd and 4th Companies available for the attack on the Amis" Major Schaefer looked at the map with the positions of the 29th marked on it. We'll attack along this side road on the western perimeter of the farm village. That should allow us to outmaneuvre and cut off their retreat path as well. I just hope we get the Panzers as promised.

As the Americans got ever close the Lorraine OB West got nervous and committed the 112th Panzer Brigade to an attack in an attempt to blunt the Advance. The 1st Armoured Division would feel the wrath of the Reich.

Klaus really didn't like those Hungarians. But he had to work with them as the 9th Panzer Division's panzergrenadiers were mostly depleted yet the Americans had endless reserves. Before them was the 3rd Armoured Division. And all they had were old model Panthers and Panzer IVs to challenge them along with Hungarian troops.

Private Peters threw himself to the ground as the house infront of him exploded. A direct hit from German artillery, killing the rest of his squad. He was the only one to succesfully escape. The 2nd Panzer Divisions assault had been expected. Just that headquarters got the timing wrong. And the boys at the front were paying the price.

Private Heinz could barely feel his fingers in the cold. He'd been standing sentry for hours now. And no sign of those damn russians.
As he began rubbing his hands together he could slowly hear something in the distance. The rumbling of engines. "Sheisse" he grabbed the flare gun and fired a warning. Hoping it would not be too late. As for him.. Who knew ?

The Russians had managed to establish a crossing over the River. Corps command was in an Uproar and a Kampfgruppe was swiftly created to deal with the interlopers. The 7th mechanized Corps in the meanwhile was in full swing bringing equipment over and preparing defences.

1st SS Panzer Corps was beginning to run out of steam and the allies seized upon the opportunity, striking with the 11th armoured and 29th infantry division. But the 1st SS Panzer Division was still able to fight and so things did not go quite as hoped.

The 51st Highland Division had been digging in along the river for the last few days, holding down any river crossings in case the Germans tried to break through in their sector.
And they did. A supported assault by the Führer Grenadier Brigade went off in their sector as part of Sicklecut aimed at cutting off 30th Corps and isolating it.

And a video looking at the Grenadiers and how they could be improved upon from my perspective.

"Werner you idiot. The Russians aren't coming from that direction. Bring the MG over to the east of the town" The Panzer Division von strachwitz had been tasked with holding a small vital village on the eastern border of Estonia until a defensive line further to the west could be established. Rolling in was the 45th Guards Motor Rifle Division. Unawares of what was awaiting it.

He hadn't heard anything from 2nd Company in hours, not since the allied artillery attack. It was all up to him and 3rd Company to push through and break the allied advance. The alternative, not worth thinking about.

"Hautpmann Ludwig could not believe his eyes as he was out on reconnaissance. A battalion headquarters exposed with little immediate support. He immediately called in reinforcements from his superior and set up preparing for a swift assault that could throw the 120th Rifle Division into chaos.
