Krebs gets alot of stick for some reason. For me personally I have nothing against the guy and he was a pleasure to meet at Eurogamer last year. His casts are also entertaining =).

I think I can accurately describe why Krebs gets a lot of dislike from a lot of people despite his success.
He's a bit like the Walmart of CoH. He's successful but a lot of people don't like how he operates. For example asking for donations for an i7 whilst streaming at 720p at high settings, or his brief casting of the latest games whilst their popularity is at a high. He's the quintessential "Susbcribe/Like/Favourite and tell all your friends" - YouTuber, some people find that obnoxious because it comes across like he cares more about growth of his channel than the strength of the content itself.
That's fine though because despite growth I'd say that the audience you capture matters just as much. What's the point in 1000s of viewers if they are on average less passionate about the game? But that's fine because someone has to capture the casual player market, and that's what Krebs has done. He enjoys the more casual side of CoH and caters to fans of it. However when Krebs is 4 out of 5 of your suggested videos on YouTube because you watched an episode of another Shoutcaster's video it can get annoying. Economies of scale in action.
