The title says it all. With the current map pool, the finals of the CEVO tournament will have to be played on Minsk/Langreskaya Winter. As you all know, these are the least competitive / fun maps, so I call on all of you, fellow CoH 2 players, to make a post in this thread to help us remove these maps from the finals.

Everyone can help our community and the CoH 2 scene grow. Even a "+1" could do wonders and help this game get more exposure with a quality tournament, so please take 5 minutes of your time to contribute.

Here is the post I made on the CEVO forums:
http://cevo.com/forums/topic/8584/company-of-heroes-2/-staff-alienware-arena-cup-map-pool/

Dear CEVO Staff,

In the Company of Heroes 2 community I am known as Twister. I have played the Company of Heroes franchise for many years and can be considered one of the game's top players.

The reason I write this is because some of the maps you chose for your tournament worry me and the CoH 2 community. You chose to host the finals on Langreskaya Winter / Minsk Pocket, but as this poll shows http://www.coh2.org/topic/15035/the-coh2-mega-map-poll they are the least preferred maps and from experience I can tell you that they are also the least tournament worthy maps. I am sure almost any CoH 2 player can back my claim.

I would like to suggest you to entirely remove said maps from the map pool and replace them with Semoskiy Summer, Kholodny Ferma Summer and/or Langreskaya Summer. This would help ensure that this tournament is as fair, fun, and competitive as possible for everyone.

Sincerely,
Twister

Really cool to see the community coming together for the good of the game, quite possibly a first since I've been highly active in the scene - let's keep it up guys!

I feel like they should also ban the ISU and Elefant from this tournament. Half the mid-high level game I've watched lately end exactly the same regardless of how it was going before:

1. ISU comes out and forces the Germans to their base
2. Elefant comes out and chases the ISU back a bit
3. Multiple ZiS guns push up backed by ISU
4. Germans lose 80% or more of their Infantry, Elefant destroyed, gg.

Yes, I've stopped watching tournies atm because the elefant / ISu meta is (a) excruciatingly dull and (b) the games all feel the same.

In fact, a tournie where those commanders are verboten would be most welcome.

Watching the tourney earlier, I feel even stronger about it. 3/4 games devolved into ISU vs Elefant. By the 3rd time I almost left the stream, it's just so boring. You see the ISU come out and you don't think "Will he be able to use this effectively?", you think "Oh here we go again.".

There is another hugely important thread that you guys might want to express your opinions on before it is too late:

http://cevo.com/forums/topic/8578/company-of-heroes-2/alienware-arena-cup-and-the-number-of-people/

CEVO says they won't be replacing no-shows with waitlisted players. That would just suck. :(

And when you're willing to waste time on something as pointless as this, you'll see just how elite half of the chosen 64 really are.

If I was Alienware, trying to get my paid commercial out to as many as possible, I'd be sorely disappointed if the content of this commercial was of low quality that very few wants to watch.

Didn't they announce the tournament at the same time as giving away 1000 multiplayer keys. So half of the signups are probably people who have no idea how to play CoH2, but figure its a simple game that requires 30apm. It's not the smartest strategy to get a tournament going. Well, iwould say its not the best way to allocate a prizepool. I don't even want to comment, it's such a shame.
