Is one person really enough to handle the community all over the world?

Yes, especially for a community this size. The CoH community was much bigger the first year or so past the CoH launch, after that it dwindled a lot. I'd expect a surge upon the release of CoH 2, with a similar pattern unless a higher profile eSports scene builds. Keep in mind that the vast majority of people that buy games like CoH purchase it for the single player experience.

To put things into perspective of how many CMs are typically needed, Activision had just one community manager each for Infinity Ward (Robert Bowling) and Treyarch (Josh Olin), and that was for the biggest FPS franchise in terms of reach / sales. Most publishers and/or studios don't hire more than one unless there's a critical need due to an eSports scene, such as Riot, or Blizzard. For a little while the Command and Conquer franchise had one and a half - a CM, and an Assistant CM. Another interesting note - Valve doesn't even have a CM at all for their popular multiplayer products - Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2, and Dota 2.

A man can achieve a lot of coverage with 8 uninterrupted hours of forum lurking/posting. Its not a hobby, after all. Its a job.

All kidding aside, I think Rambo would be more fitting for those CM requirements.

aerafield: @LimaOscarMike I would say nowadays is a decent time to try CoH3. If you loved CoH2 however, there is a solid chance you're gonna dislike CoH3

Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals.
