XCOM: Enemy Unknown was a great game of 2012. I might play through it again.

Top games of 2012 were:

- Tekken Tag Tournament 2
2012s best fighting game, hands down, and the best Tekken game in years. It's a pain to actually learn properly, but it's still great fun.

Biggest disappointment of 2012:
Street Fighter x Tekken. Although that game is now the best 2D fighter on the market imo due to the patch, on release the game just wasn't fun.
I still play it now though. It's really fun with the system changes and better pace, but it was a massive disappointment on launch.

I pretty much only purchased fighting games during 2012 so Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was my favourite game of 2012, wish I had my console with me because I miss playing it.

SFxT was a bit disappointing at release however I liked the combo system and the lack of comeback mechanics. Additionally I find it usually takes a few iterations for Capcom to get their fighters to a good standard. CvS1 - CvS2 , SF2 to SSF2T, SF3 to SF3:3S etc. After I finish my last year I'll pick up my 360 so I can play ver. 2013

^basically the feelings I have on that subject as well. TTT2 is my main game right now though, as not many people in the norwegian FGC play SFxT.

I gotta say though, even though TTT2 has a good netcode, playing online against capos is still a fucking pain. :(

Yep, capos are horrible but if you play against them enough you'll eventually learn the gaps in the strings and high, mid, low mix ups.

I still hate capos with a passion though :(
Gotta hit the lab at some point, I know both Feng and Leo have pretty good matchups against capos once I learn them.

Gonna try out Lars in SFxT later today, he seems pretty fun.

The new Sim City is out today!

If we know EA right you'll maybe get to play it next week! :D

Im thinking of purchasing the supporter edition. BIS is a good hearted studio, with funds they could do amazing stuff.

thought about it too.... but since i already own pretty much everything BIS has ever released (mil-sim wise), i decided against it... i'll just buy the DLCs for full price and probably still pay less than what the supporter edition costs (and i already own ARMA/ARMA2 as mentioned before)

Sure.

Mini Sim City Review

Positives:
-Quite Nice looking
-Much easier to lay out sectors than SC4
-Curving roads make laying out things easier and look better
-No longer do you have to lay piping or power lines, sewage, power, and water all run through the streets
-Road upgrade tool is nice
-Overall fun to play and quite addicting
-Funny new disasters like Zombie's lol
-The Multiplayer aspect makes it more interesting since you can trade with friends

Negatives:
-Cities are way too small. Confined areas mean every city eventually ends up in a square shape, totally maxxing out every square inch within a few hours time. This is a BIG negative imo, but apparently this may change in the future.
-The game sometimes feels too easy.
-Because its multiplayer, there are no saves, no redo's, no "I fucked up i need to revert". What you do is permanent.
-The NA servers are a bit full. Thankfully the EU servers are not and lag isnt exactly a problem in a city builder.
-There are a limited number of regions, something like 10-12 regions total. I'd think this number would be much bigger for a game we waited 10 years for.
-There are some gameplay things i dont care for such as if you bulldoze a road, it also bulldozes the building facing it among other things. I think these will be patched though.

Summary:
Overall a very fun and somewhat addictive game and a great way to kill some time til CoH2 Beta. Just dont expect to build New York sized cities or anything, its almost more of a Sim Town than a Sim City so far.

It has its issues but its still

No more subway systems or terraforming anymore..

Plus you can't lay out your own rail and highway systems. The Glassbox engine is fantastic, but the rest of the game has gone backwards tbh. Things that you could do in SimCity 4 are now not possible anymore.

KoRneY: @aerafield It's possible that it is underpriced for what it is capable of now, no need to go full retard and take it immediately as a massive problem. It costs 60 more MP than a pz.3 and in 2v2 the barrage can be quite strong.

OKSpitfire: I do like that they made the Stuka more expensive instead of nerfing it into the ground though. Found it pretty unsatisfying to use before that buff a while back....

aerafield: USF already is by far the shittiest faction in terms of countering blobbing and turtling, now they supposedly have one overtuned tool locked behind a BG and it's immediately a massive problem?
Last Thursday, 13:33 PM
Lady Xenarra: I think post-2.0 Whizbang buffs, the price is too low esp since the Stuka got nerfed in cost too. Speaking of which, how exactly is one supposed to successfully dive this Sherman in disguise? Med tank spam running into SSFs?

Lady Xenarra: WTB Whizzbang for DAK instead of Stuka, 5 fuel cheape, 60MP more expensive and next to impossible to dive.

Rosbone: It is also hard to expect Relic to help Coh2 when they cant even make working menus in Coh3 yet, 2 years after release and at full price+ for DLCs. Thats like asking a fish to do calculus.
Last Tuesday, 02:58 AM
Rosbone: But this last patch has made good progress for grabbing players. All we can hope is Coh3 gets to Coh2s quality level before everyone abandons the franchise. Its Relic so they will completely f*%k it up as usual. But its a hope/cope.
Last Tuesday, 02:55 AM
Rosbone: Relic wants Coh2 to fail so players will migrate to Coh3. It is hard to blame them since Coh3 sucks so bad. It needs all the help it can get.

OKSpitfire: Well... going to be seeing the Pershing a lot for a little while, that thing is a monster.
