They are OP because they are:
- cheap
- good vs AI
- long range means they are good vs shorter ranged Tanks (probably SU-85 and ISU are good with them)
- gain vet really fast

+ direct hits at-guns, which means three shots at an at-gun while not moving, at-gun destroyed.

Honestly,

I love the new stugs, just as i love the new t-34s.

I wouldn't say it's OP, i like that an assault gun is effective vs infantry.
Like i said, i love the new stugs.
They are simply great.

I go german mechanized pretty much every game now.

stug + command tank works very nice, especially if you have spotting scopes.

So good in performance, cheap, but easy to die if careless micro.

Opness varies with the skill of player.

Are they still cheap, though? They cost 80 fuel but are only cheap in terms of manpower. 80 into a Stug will deny you much of a panzer IV.

You don't go for P4 with them, you get yourself pak pack and wait for tiger, which is absolutely deadly against infantry as well as armor.

tbh this video clip of girls und panzer says it all really.

Back on Topic:
ive heard that its UP, OP and somewhere in between I don't think the patch is out enough to tell exactly what needs to be done. :)

also there not suppose to be used as anti tank now, not as much anyway. Use them as anti-infantry, anti-veichle and anti-t70 :) there ability ofc is still pretty good. but they are no longer tank destroyers.

yeah that's one of the worst things i've ever seen.

but anyway i guess its a cheap glass cannon now. i'd rather have a little tank destroyer that can reliably fend off kv8s and is2s but ok. sure it has the stun but they had it before the patch too.

Love the new stug. Knowing how to micro an su85 pre-april patch against flanking tanks translate well to stug microing. It's especially rewarding towards unsuspecting infantry that think stug is ineffective at AI. It's AT can still penetrate against Sov tanks as well.

Really? Did anyone actualy killed with "the new improved stug" anything else than a lost rabbit? If so, I would like a replay.

I think you should break your holy vow and play soviets.

Have it used against you and you'll come here screaming OP instantly.

I like using the new stug. Except ram seems to work very well against it.

it's more of a dps unit. over time it'll do alot if you can keep it firing and free from disruption. flanks are even more unforgiving to deal with because of their reduced health and armor.

Stugs are vulnerable to AT guns, SU-85 and heavy tanks (IS-2 ISU-152, not to KV's), so it's the same as in patch before, but now Stugs are better vs inf, and cheaper

not to mention less health, less armor and less armor penetration. it's a more unforgiving unit to use and less reliable against tanks so no, it's not the same as in the patch before. i prefer the old stug but w/e a lot of people seem happy with this version so i guess i need to drink hard liquor and cry about my favorite video game unit or adapt i dunno.

The new StuG G is basically a scaled up version of the old StuG E. Except instead of being useless at everything, it's only decent at everything.

It's a shame, I was looking forward to combinging E's and G's for great AT / AI Assaults. :P
