P.S. I wonder what "good-will" people will post, having in view I have my player card in signature :nahnah:. What other statistics and figures. ... I can't wait....

I tend to take the view point that I'd rather be insulted for what is on my player card than have people make assumptions about it based on what I say.

Of course if someone is insulting me about my player card chances are I'm not going to care what they think anyway

So, make both units range 75 (that camping is less encouraged) and reduce the ISUs squadwipe-exlosions with a splash damage nerf?. And balance the Elefant so it is +++ against tanks and + against infantry and the ISU is ++ against tanks and ++ against infantry... (if you know what I mean).

The funny thing is, no one ever asked about ISU AT buffs.
People always wanted it to be more durable for the price and that was a rightful buff.

ISU AT was just as uncalled for as StuG III AI.

This.

I guess I'd actually be fine with an ISU that's good against inf but is only decentish against tanks.

Indeed. I've myself always wondered why the ISU-152 had thin armor despite being build on the IS-2 chassis. I mean I get the idea that a long range unit should be vulnerable when attacked from close range, but this was not the case with the elephant so I didn't know why it should for the ISU-152.

The unit was under performing before the patch, but I would have been content with a armor buff and a slight AI buff (because all tanks recieved AI buffs).

isu-152 was complete complete dog crap pre patch.

Like it had paper armor, shitty AT , ISU-152 had less pen than SU-85 or even IS-2!

Like it was the perfect unit if you want to throw the game away...

1V1s im talking about here.

Now isu-152 is overperforming. Needs range reduction.

Well chassis is basically drivetrain, suspension and engine.

Armour is part of the box that goes on top of that (to put it in somewhat crude terms)

The chassis determines how big a box you can put on there, but doesn't determine how thick the armour is beyond setting an upperbound for how heavy the thing can be

The ISU152 was a great weapon prepatch. Prepatch the ISU152 still wipes out infantry and can take on tanks, the only real counter to ISU is an Elefant. The biggest problem with flanking ISU152s are Soviet mines, and since the ISU has such a long range and a great squad wiping ability the ISU152 can wipe out any pioneer squad that tries to clear out the mines. Therefore, making attacks from German tanks really risky, because if any of the German tanks hits the mines, their engine will get destroyed making them sitting ducks for the ISU.

The ISU was great and now it's even worse.

Dude trust me. I never liked abusive strategies pre march deployment (sniper clown car or KV-8) and I tried to make the ISU-152 work SOOOO many times.... So many times. And every single time i bought it, i lost. I would of won all those games if i just bought 3 t-34s instead of an ISU-152. But i decided to do something creative. Well, it ended in tragedy because i got absolutely destroyed by absolutely everything. Name it. P IVs , Tigers oh and panthers. Yes panthers were the hard counter to isu-152s in 1v1s..

The only time i won was when i had a isu-152 + t-34 vs tiger and got a lucky immobilized + main gun destroyed crit. And even then the ISU-152 took like 1 minute to kill the goddam beast(mark target was also applied).

Now isu-152 is clearly overperforming.

In the youtube have a video, Tiger vs ISU 152, Tiger wins for a bit...

But only the 2 tank's in battle, no crazy SPAM'S... Spam's is the problem...

Some player's only doo spam, crazy rush's, no mixes army's, and win...

ISU152 alone is a $hit, but with 3 or 4 AT behind, is a god...

And a AT with soldier's, is a invencible AT, with no soldier's you do 1 shot and they explode... Strange things need fixes...

please relic, for fuck's sake, remove both tanks from the game. neither tanks brings any real credit to the game other than frustration on the receiving end.

elefant wipes all soviet armour and isu152 steadily bleed the entire german army away. 100range is stupid, their firepower is even more stupid. leave this kinda shit for single player AI compstomp fun, please dont put them in MP.

Played quite a few games using the ISU152. It is a fairly game breaking unit currently.

With the guard rifle and marked target commander the ISU's are capable of facing down elephants with relative ease.

If anyone wants a replay of this happening hit me up and ill email you a replay.

Yeh, I bought that commander too. Quite OP in my oppinion. Guards + Mark + Bombing Strike. That commander is designed to counter the ISU counters.

I've played vs the ISU152 since the patch 3 or 4 times and managed to destroy it every time without elefant too. I did noticed it had been buffed, but I didn't sit and cry in game, I dealt with it.

It's simple...

1) flank with decent tank or even better, a pair.
2) come up behind it (it turns to slow to get the tanks before it's too late)
3) gg

Most times this happened, the soviet rage quit because once he lost the ISU it was gg anyway.

;-)

what is in your opinion a "decent tank"? P4? If yes, then ISU was managed by an idiot who didn't suported it at all with other units. Even a con squad can atnade your P4 transforming it into a sitting duck. And if you try to kill an ISU with a P4... your beard will grow over your keeboard until this will happen. If you're talking about Panthers, could be but I haven't seen a Panther for so long now, forgot how it looks. And it can be ATnaded as well. Your only option remains the Tiger (couple of them) and you have a 50% (maybe) chance of success. Probably you didn't have a worthy oponent.

But what if you had 3 ISUs in a 2v2 in front of you? how would you manage that? I saw that. And it's nasty. No solution.

Certainly it is possible to do this, but against good players this is nearly impossible. One AT gun, or a mine, or a lucky conscript nade, or button, will stop the flank. Also the only tanks reliably able to defeat ISU-152 before being destroyed are the Panther and Tiger. Both of these units are too risky to send in that deep behind enemy lines.

As a result the late game in COH2 is now ISU-152 vs elephant.

In short ISU-152 is beatable, but not easily enough. It negates infantry combat and veterancy, and is very, very difficult to kill with armor (excluding elephant).

I've done it with Vet 3 P4 and a normal P4. A single Panther and a single Tiger.

By sitting and doing nothing, the game would be a certain loss anyway, so taking a somewhat risky flank to win the game is fair play in my book. Beating that one unit can (and does in the case of the ISU) change the battlefield and when these opportunities come along, I won't pussy foot around, I'll go and deal with it aggressively and strategically. Granted there is a decent bit of risk involved as already mentioned, but it's a game... Take a risk to get the win.

You make a 1 minute flank action, ambushing, but a AT turn in 2 seconds to kill you... And no mention the RNG's...

Isu 152 should have a switch between HE rounds and High penetration rounds. And a timer for changing it.

It can't be an ANTI ALL unit.

Also like this idea.

Just a word of advise for Relic.
If you going to design super range units that one shoot everything just make the maps BIG ENOUGH so you can actually flank that stupid shit. I'm tired of being forced to go Elephant every game to be able to counter this one single unit that will one shoot EVERYTHING I got.
That said Elephant is not in a better state either. Its presence on the field makes all the Soviet armour useless.

I think if they'll nerf these units to oblivion, nobody will give a f...k. ISU 152 is the tool of abusers and once ISU is nerfed, german faction has other tools to deal with the rest of the soviet armor.
Just reduce their range, accuracy at distance, and some of the damage output. Put them at 1 or 2 CPs later.

I'm tired of these units too (well not of the Elefant as I am of the ISU :P which I still consider to be more unbalanced than the Elefant).
