Another quick update that I just saw on the trending page!
It seems like Relic have re-uploaded the original Company of Heroes trailer. This could still mean an expansion, huge update of vCoh or something else entirely. Thank goodness EGX is on today.
The Americans are coming, and my wallet is ready.

Although it's very unlikely, my hopes are that it will be an expansion set in North Africa.

This would be really cool. It's a setting very few games have tried and certainly has potential.

A way to have Americans v. pseudo-Soviets? That would be very interesting. Especially if building a Triage Center caused the theme to M.A.S.H. to play.

A big old expansion with the Ardennes Offensive would rock. But like the other guy said, Americans on the Eastern Front? WTF?
I'd be bitterly disappointed if Relic took liberties like that.
OTOH why all the hype *just* for a commander with a new vehicle type (Sherms?)

CA have re-made *three* of their games with new engines, right? (Shogun / Medieval / Rome)
I seriously think a remake of vCoH with the CoH2 engine could be on the cards.

My fantasy would be the addition of the Finnish to CoH2...
Wombat, seeing what you said, I think what you've just said makes a lot of sense. CoH2 is failing, it's got this big cloud over it's head of being P2W and imbalanced. Wouldn't it make sense to start all over and remake vCoH as... umm... vCoH2? Even so, I have reservations as it's still less than a year since CoH2 came out, that's awfully fast pump out a new game, but then why not considering CoH2's rep. I do hope that this isn't the case. TBH I'd much rather keep to the Eastern Front because my interests lie primarily there and anyway, what would you do that vCoH hasn't done the same or better?
We'll see, I'll be staying up tonight to watch what happens...

No i dont think that they made a vcoh with new engine... Vcoh is a old good game but the priority is coh2. I think they gonna present a expansion but I don't know if it will be army's or pacific side. Maybe they want show us new mechanics for the feature like observa mode

My speculation is this is all part of Relic`s latest money grab:
- nerf soviet units to hell
- release US land lease commander that is viable
- ???
- PROFIT $$$
They just want to show that without USA its impossible to win ww2 for russians
and money ofcourse

I'm guessing the newest expansion is the modern day US military deploying to some NATO countries in response to the current Russian "aggression" with Putin made to look like the bad guy with the new drawn allies (Germany, US, and Brits) along the Ukraine /Crimean border in order to further alienate the gamers in Russia

honestly, i hope it is a lend lease commander.
If its the western front nobody will play it.
COH 1 is a slightly better game in itself than COH 2 (because of global upgrades), however, i think COH 2 is way better for me because for me atleast, the eastern front is 10x more interesting than the in my opinion, rather boring, western front. Adding americans to this game , ehh i dont know...
Then again this is only my opinion, i understand lots of other people want lots of new factions or something. I for example just want sovs/ ostheer balanced.

1. "Heavy cav. here!" - Might be English, but everybody in this game has English voice-lines. It is likely, that the line was jsut used, because we know it from Coh1. Might be that it also appears on the new Shermans (as it´s fairly neutral and not a restriction to Americans).
2. The wreckage of the Sherman is on Eastern front maps. "Steppes" map has a M4 wreck. It can be assumed that the Sherman will be available on those Eastern front maps.
3. Russians already have two lend-lease vehicles. Why not a tank?
4. I doubt relic will suddenly jump to a different front, if they didn´t even finish the Eastern front theater properly. There´s so much stuff to be included (like lend lease commanders). Maybe in the far future they could use the M4 skin again, but I doubt Americans will be included now.
