FFS, who design this spotting scope crap? It is a doctrine ability but turns out being extremely useless.

Just a game trying to play Elefant, that stupid driver and gunner just can't resist their fun or whatever shooting at random Soviet guy, making the vehicle keep rotating and nullify the spotting scope, while the Soviet ISU keep pumping shell with their non-doctrine scope wiping out whatever they like.

Just give Ele a hold fire and don't fucking move button okay?

I think AT Guns and AT Tanks should just have a "Vehicle Only" engagement mode to prevent these shenanigans.

Or just make spotting scope like the Soviet one?

I think he means the SU-85's 'zoom' mode. I disagree, while it'd be nice stock on some vehicles, I prefer spotting scopes as they are, great for StuG's in pairs and amazing on Scout Cars.

This is what I have been complaining all the time, just give *Hold fire* or *Vehicles only* mode.

I have to agree with the OP on this one.

Having a hold fire and/or target vehicles only ability should be standard issue for AT guns and tank destroyers.

Maybe this can be considered in future optimization patches? Would have been fun to have it implemented from the get-go but I guess we'll just have to wait and say our daily prayers to the RNG god for this one.

Hold Fire on the Ele has nothing to do with Spotting scopes. Because you can put a spotting scope on this one unit and it doesnt handle it well doesnt mean there is something wrong with the scope

Good God a vetted scout car with spotting scopes is damn near a maphack.

Personally I dont think the Ele should even be allowed to have spotting scopes and I think thats everybodys problem with this unit. Focus sight yes Spotting scope plus focus sights no.

The zoom mode (focus sight) on the ISU152, SU85s and elephants all work exactly the same.

Except Spotting scopes EXTEND the Eles focus sights. Like For Mother Russia Stacking with OORAH. If the ele moves of course GASP IT ONLY HAS REGULAR FOCUS SIGHTS!

Honestly the elefant is one of the easiest units to micro.

but hold fire on atguns and assault guns would be very very nice.

I find (however annoying it maybe) it is worth while to turn it at an angle and make sure it doesn't have long sight enabled. Face it towards a close building if possible. Just don't turn it around. The last thing you want is for some lucky Field Gun to roll up behind it if it is turned 180.
