HOW TO: Make Spline Trenches?

I can't figure this out for the life of me. I can make a trench object spline, then deform it to drop it into the terrain, but once I try to add terrain on the outside to smooth it out, it raises my trench again.

I'm going nuts tryin' to get this to work, any help?

Basically I followed this, which is pretty close. It's for vCOH, but the principle is the same.

Thanks for the link. I still have a problem though. At the edit profile step I cannot add new handles or move the old ones. I followed the steps exactly...

Edit: I got it working, just restarted WB and tried again... No idea what went wrong

Hell yeah, glad it helped. Worked well for me as well. My map is pretty much done now.

hit cntrl + shift + f5 and it will refresh the impass. I think you can't get through there still, but can't really tell because of the angel. Other than that I am not sure.
